The set bonus for the Mechanic ring + belt should include a bonus for attacking Constructs, similar to how other sets give a bonus against Undead or Outsiders.

Great idea.
EDIT: Let me expand upon my support here. The mechanic's ring is an abomination right now. It's a non bonus for a PrE that is a non bonus. I would suggest the ring add greater construct bane to all your attacks. This would be a serious bonus versus constructs and make it a viable item situationally. Alternatively, the ring could imbue your strikes with an ability that reduced construct fortification per hit. This would make it more appealing to rogues in particular (the supposed intended users of the item).
