Game Wont Start

I began downloading the game last night. I got as far as creating a character, and playing through the "Beach" and "Grotto" areas. I put the game down for the night to let more of it download. I've gotten "Village" and "Wilderness" so far, and it's working on getting "Full Game".
But today, I can open the TDM, open the client, log in, and select a world. After that, the screen goes black, a pink swirly effect fills the screen for about 1 second, then nothing. It kicks me back to the desktop. No error reports or anything.
I've gone through the other threads and tried all the solutions other people have suggested for similar problems, but nothing has worked so far. And like I said, the game ran just fine last night. Suprisingly well, actually.

Maybe I just need to wait for "Full Game" to finish downloading?

I was having the same problem.
If you remove the turbine_logo.bik from the raw directory and the other 2 .bik files from the raw/en directory, the game will start as normal.
The files will get put back and the issue returns though. Hope it stops when I get everything downloaded.

I'm having the same issue as the OP. Installed and played all day yesterday, but today, I log in, click play, and then after a brief "black" screen of about 1 second, I get booted to desktop, no errors, no nothing.

I tried deleting the .bik files as mentioned above, but made no difference.

No amount of rebooting, etc. makes any difference.

Anyone else have any ideas what's going on?

EDIT: Uninstalled/Reinstalled and works fine now. Something must have gotten corrupt when I logged off the day before.

i can get the main log in screen, and i choose the world, but after it, the log in screen stays for about half a minute, then disspears. nothing else happens. any other advice?

Edit: will the advice above help with my problems?
