The problems:
After thoughtful consideration, I have reached a grim conclusion: DDO is too fun and harms my enjoyment of other games.
Whenever I try a new game, I can't help but compare it to other games and it always pales in comparison to DDO. As a result, even when I feel like something different from DDO, I still end up not having fun because I am craving DDO. Would DDO be less fun, I could go back to enjoy the mediocre games I once enjoyed playing. I firmly believe that I am not the only one affected by this grave problem. I think that most, if not all, DDO players suffer from this problem.
For this reason, I think that Turbine should take this problem very, very seriously.
Additionally,

Do0o0Ooo0ooMmm us all. That is, if the amount of fun present in DDO does not anger
Cthulhu therefore leading to our destruction!
It is simply too dangerous for a game to be this fun!
This is serious business here. We are not only talking of only my well-being, or the well-being of the entirety of DDO player. No, we are talking about the well-being of all the inhabitants of the universe, as well as the well-being of inhabitants elsewhere in the Multitiverse. Turbine has to realize the gravity of the problem. This is clearly not an overreaction of a forum poster or someone posting something silly to be funny. No, the danger is here. It's
REAL, and it could lead to consequences far greater than anything a gaming studio has faced thus far.

The solutions:
The first problem could be solved by making every other game more fun but that would only increase the odds of the second problem from becoming a reality. Besides, we all know that other game developers are a bunch of slackers who likes to do
other things rather than develop fun games.
So, we
have to make DDO less fun! Quick.
I have pondered on the problem for several days and I believe I have found enough changes that could lead to make DDO less fun in a satisfactory manner. Now, keep in mind that this is by no means an exhaustive list and that I am sure several additions could be made but I am confident in saying that this consists of a fairly solid start.
Turbine should focus on making DDO less fun by following these suggestions:
- Keep up the good work on S&B combat
- Keep up the great work on ranged combat
- Make finding a group as difficult as it is in your competitors' games
- Disable multiclassing with the exception of triclassed cleric/bard/sorcerer characters
- Remove all quests but Tomb of the Tormented
- If one quest is too little, consider keeping Coalescence Chamber but change it so that it's far easier to fall off
- Really add /death count and /death completions
- Disable Rendered Mode in Tempest Spine
- Remove Grease
- Remove the sound effects on Implosion
- Give all female characters fat butts
- Add immunities to everything to all mobs
- Add more air elementals - everywhere, pronto
- Fix the Supreme Cleave and sorcerer capstone exploits
- Keep up the good work on Cheat Death
- Remove all references to broccoli or tasty ham - nutritiousness and tastiness have too high levels of entertainment
- Ban Memnir and block his IP
- Hire me
- Return to Patch 1 attack rates (or even slower)
- Don't ever add the pirate raid you planned to add in Update 2
As I said above, this is not a complete list. If you have suggestions, go ahead.
The more of us post in this thread, the more Turbine will realize how important this is. Even /sign posts are a great, helpful contribution to this cause.
Final words:
This is very important. I cannot stress how
important this problem is.
It is crucial for Turbine to listen to ME and remedy to the problem
as quickly as possible, before it is too late. Thousands of DDO player are suffering because of their great job at making a fun game! Shame on you, Turbine. If you don't change your course of action right now, you might be the ones who will destroy this universe (and possibly others in the Multiverse). This is no laughing matter.
