Double penalty on protection items?

Why is it if I have two items equipped which protect against negative energy drain (Talisman of the Silver Flame, Scarab of Protection) BOTH items lose charges when I am hit by an enemy attack?

Example: Enemy caster hits me with Enervation draining 3 levels. BOTH my talisman AND my scarab lose 3 charges EACH. Doesn't seem like this is working correctly - I just lost 6 charges of protection. I would think items like this would "stack", i.e. the Talisman would get drained BEFORE the Scarab starts losing its charges.

Please devs, can you look into this?

Sounds like a bug...though the scarab would likely be drained first rather then the SF talisman because the scarab protects against a larger number of effects and would be considered the dominate protection. Kinda in the same way protection from elements gets hit before resistance but on a larger scale.

I would hope that the game would be smart enough to check/use the rechargable item first before the one that turns to dust after expended. Alas, it doesn't.
