aye, a valuable feat that isn't overpowered. Max ranks are still halved, they just cost 1 point per rank.
yah, would be a nice feat to have for some of the 'ouside the box' builds
Man ... then I'd have to re-roll ... again!! Still like the feat. Also want Practiced Spellcaster too ... :D
I, too, would like Practised Spellcaster for the improved viability of "deep multiclass" builds. However, we must acknowledge that Rangers and Paladins technically get a variant of this feat already. Our spells are full caster level for duration and effect. So, maybe Rangers and Paladins should be excluded and it should be Bard/Cler/Sorc/Wiz only.
I don't know if I would call that feat 'not overpowered'. Many players have taken 1 or 2 levels of rogue or bard almost soley for the ability to put points into UMD, or for some, to become a trapsmith. This feat would effectively replace the need to crossclass while allowing the user to become more powerful in their primary class.
But you would still have to multi-class. For example, a level of Rogue or Bard would allow you to max UMD because it's a class skill but with this feat it would only reduce the points needed to get it to what a cross-class skill could get to.
Your maximum rank in a class skill is your character level + 3.
Your maximum rank in a cross-class skill is one-half of this number (do not round up or down).
Just give me a skill respec.
the only way this would work would be it was a non-replaceable feat. otherwise, you just take the feat til your level capped and then swap it out.
Of course in PnP, it's limited to humans and doppelgangers. I would actually like to see it added to humans as a racial ability. While HV is better now than the first revision, it's still a little blah on most builds. And humans don't have many good enhancements to begin with.
