Since I've updated to module 5, my caster's hold spells no longer have a sound effect. Others in the party still hear it, but no matter how close or far from the creature held I cannot hear the effect.
I have yet to see if I can hear other's hold spells as none have been cast in my presence yet :D
Edit: cant hear hold spells from others either. Guess I have to reinstall and see if that helps.
I have the same problem and i'm not a caster, i'm a barb.
There are some spell I just cant hear for some reason. There are a couple of other things I can't hear as well, but I can't remember what they are off the top of my head atm.
I would first check your sound drivers if that is the case - also posting a dxdiag if your drivers are up to date and you still cannot hear them.
My problem was solved by uninstalling, then reinstalling from the original game CD.
That was a looooooong 8 hours to update though, is there a more recent version that I could download next time?
Thanks for posting the results, if you downloaded the one online, I'm afraid that is the only version.
Actually I installed and updated from the original game CD that i bought back in 06 (feb or march IIRC).
If theres a version I can download off the net, is it available for free for valid subscriptions, and if so where can I get it?
