A Barbarian frustration

Hey all,

I have been leveling up a barbarian lately and i have run into a bit of a frustration. I am pretty sure this has been brought up in reference to turning/DVs and i am assuming it is the same thing, but i was wondering if anyone has heard any official response of when or if it will be fixed.

So here is it:
I keep my Rage in my toolbar under number 3. If i it #3 and then for some reason move or take some other action that interupts my rage before the animation is complete, the rage doesn't take effect but i still subtracts one from the available number. I have also seen this problem with potions. I will drink one, but if the actualy animation is interupted my toon will not get the intended effect. With potions it is a bit of a pain (only waisting a little plat), but rage is the key to a barbarian. Loosing a rage without gaining the effect is a pretty big deal.

I know others in my circle have run into this bug, is there any official word on it? Have they ID'd it as a bug? etc....

Now that you mention it, i have seen it happen when i play my caster & cleric although it is not anywhere near as previlent. Maybe it has to do with the particular animation and when it allows you take another action.

Simple workaround: start running first, then click Rage. You'll run in place as the buff processes instead of interrupting. Works every time for me. :)

It takes the cost first (SP, clickie charge, rage count, etc) before it does the action so if it is a longer activation it can be interrupted by you taking another action or in cases like spells by taking damage you won't gain the benefit.

I tried what you suggested. When i am running and i hit rage, it stops me and doesn't start running again once the rage has taken effect..

I have noticed that this happens to my new Barb who just dinged 9, but my older 14 barb does not and has not ever have this problem.

It actually happens a lot and its very annoying. I absolutely hate it when my Rage doesn't go off because of a game bug, really ticks me off.

As far as I'm concerned this is a bug and I wish Turbine would fix it. Rage is supposed to be a free-at-will action. It should be instant and uninteruptable.

It's a bug, and needs to be fixed... Meanwhile... work around it...

When you rage, don't do anything else until you see the icon appear.. Whenever possible, rage BEFORE the battle so it's not an issue...

well drinking a potion and such it take an action to do that in a round so u cant move untill then so just wait one more sec it wont kill you same with rage.

I have noticed I hit rage and lost one and wasnt raging .. I didnt see what is causing it yet. Drives me nuts though.

If you have decent jump and FF boots, just do what all casters do. Jump in the air and rage as you are floating down. Takes at least a 20jump for this to be effective I belive.

As said above, just don't do anything until you see the rage icon on your top corner. Then you can safely move.
And yes, this is a well known annoying bug.

Kind of like shrining. Wait for your blue bar to be restored regardless of the 'progess' bar.

How much does it tick you off? Enough to send you into a... rage? ;)

my barb is capped and i can count the times that's happened to me on one hand. i believe the issue is more of a hand-eye coordination thing than a bug. if you're not moving and you move while making an action , ie raging, that action fails. it's really a fairly simple concept. then again, with my barb, i'm usually doing everything on the run and jumping when i do an action like this.

This is a problem that's existed since pre-launch. The tried to fix it by making the Rage animation "quicker". It still happens though. They need to make the Rage ability insta-cast like what they did with Intimidate, plain and simple.

A potion is SUPPOSED to be an action that takes time is interuptable. Rage is supposed to be a free action that is uninteruptable and instantaneous. It is broken.

Agreed. I get this all the time. The 60 sec cooldown timer starts ticking, but the Rage doesn't go off. LoH was turned into an instant cast, why not Rage.
