Reaper Spawning Rate and Saltmarsh?

I have about 23 Reaper Points so not an expert but I did a few quests the other day in Saltmarsh and it seemed like the Reapers on R1 were spawning at a much higher rate than normal. Typically, I find 1-3 Reapers is pretty typical and sometimes 4-5. My buddy and I doing R1 in Saltmarsh had 9 Reapers. It seemed insane. Was that just bad luck or have others noticed the spawn rate different in Saltmarsh?
