View Full Version : Roll Build Permadeath Guild "Toy Soldiers PD" planning weekly PD runs, recruiting
A group of us from Khyber have started a pet project here on Wayfinder. Toy Soldiers PD is a permadeath guild with a twist, as in all your characters must be "roll builds", which means you roll for race/class/alignment/gender. We have come up with an initial rule set and framework based on some experimentation and feedback on several lives we started. We are looking for players from any server, preferably veterans who know the game well. If we get enough players at some point we will do a web page, etc. but for the time being we will be communicating through the forums.
We will run fixed weekly runs on the following schedule:
FIXED PLAY TIME will be " " " 8:30am to 10:30am EST every SATURDAY and SUNDAY " " ":
As we are all in different time zones I thought below might help
08:30h - 10:30h New York
14:30h - 16:30h Berlin
20:30h - 22:30h Bangkok
21:30h - 23:30h Beijing
Some of us may do bi-weekly events or random login and run with PUGS! Others may want to setup additional fixed times they will run and post here.
If you have played the grind game for gear, PL, etc. and want something different this may be for you. If you have your 3X uber completionist and get bored running only lvl 28 content but want a fresh approach, this may be for you. If you just want a break from your server sometimes and something very challenging to do, this may be for you.
We will do some level 1 toons, and we will also run some iconics (level 15 start)
Here is the basic ruleset for gameplay and character creation: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s83lnIIXJ95QBs18AGJIZNA9AHELAjDRLoC0VvWh5RM/pubhtml?gid=1791036880&single=true
Post this thread if you are interested, as well as typical times you may want to play your PD Roll Build toons on Wayfinder.
You can also send in game mail to KAWKPHITE or TOOTHCHIPPER on WAYFINDER. We will send you guild invite from there. UPDATE - please get one toon in the guild that you will NOT be playing, as a placeholder toon. ALL toons will be made officers from time to time. The point is that each account should have an officer of his own so that he can invite his other toons to the guild when needed. But that officer toon should be one you just hold as a placeholder (he should not die).

Hi,
This sounds like quite a fun idea.
One thing I've wondered about permadeath groups is, if your character dies and you have to start another which is well behind the main group, how do you catch up? Is it via vet status or iconics, by soloing, or are you just out?
Thanks.

Hey Astrican, well on the runs we've done, if a party member can take you to a shrine, or if a party member can raise you (NO SIBERYS CAKES THOUGH, ONLY SCROLLS OR SPELLS), then its not a permadeath.
So, your only chance of dying is a party wipe, or alternatively if the quest has no shrine and no party member can raise you. In the case of a party wipe, everyone is starting over. In the case of a single member dying in a no shrine quest and no party member can raise, yes, you would have to start over.
Now, what we are envisioning is that all toons in the guild are PD, that means eventually you should have an iconic or two at spread out levels, and two or three lower level toons spread out at lvls, and you can choose which ones to run with which parties.
If we find that the shrine and raise dead from scroll rules is making it way too easy, we will nix it eventually and make ANY death a PD. But for the time being it has been challenging running 28 point builds with no gear, no plat, no pots, no past lives on elite content. In all our previous runs every party wipe was due to carelessness (zerging) or champions!
Come give it a try!

The Ballad of Plucky of PD
Set sail for Korthos Shores did she
Brisk breeze blowing in the wind
Salty spray on a lonely day
Entering the Crypt of Hayton
Looking about
The first chest she encountered
Fluttered its hinges
But loot she wanted
Gold for keeping
Alas, the first chest she looted was her last.
Here lies Plucky, salt spray still upon her hair...

MY ROLL:
---------------------------------
1= Male
8=Warforged
13=Wizard
2=Lawful Neutral
3=Three Classes
4=Cleric
6=Favored Soul
---------------------------------
I'de also make a few adjustments to the Rules...
1. only allow trading if it was from a looted chess in a non-public area, including airships.
2. You can acquire bags (Ingredient, Gem, Collectable & Augment), they must be empty.
3. Insert a line after Rule 1, to see if it is an iconic. Have that optional Boolean check
My reasons for the needed adjustments:
Basically, Rule #3, can be abused....scratch it!
--3. You cannot trade with players other than those in your group (or guild)--
It is also annoying running out of space because of gems & collectable trash.
BTW, this really reminds me of when i started playing years ago... so far its really fun

Today a Kobold Shaman Champion nailed the entire group of four and caused a party wipe half way thru Waterworks part 3 :-( There was no way any of us could reach a shrine ... We survived the mimics and what have you not, but that kobold had no mercy ..... "Kobold always rembers Waterworks" came to mind :-)

I have to say, I really like the current rule set.
In the past I have avoided Permadeath simply because the rules are too complex and restrictive.
I think today wipe shows that the challenge is definitely there with the current ruleset.
If the ruleset is changed in the future, I might stay with the current set personally.

Looking forward to the challenge and will try and level myself while I wait to connect with others. I don't see any from the guild on now.

I've rolled a male drow sorc LN no multiclass.
Calling him Dazebot, picked up Sonic Blast, waiting in Korthos.
Pulled 1000 exp and +1 tome of spellcraft from Daily Dice!
I probably cannot subscribe to a regular schedule. But I'm often on Wayfinder so if I see you online I'll try to team up.

So far nobody has fixed playing times. We did run some over the weekend. Yesterday we rolled up some new iconics and started at lvl 15. two lordsmarch quests took us well over an hour, with multiple near PD experiences. It was very challenging (when you can't resurrect with your 2rogue/13cleric because you have to spell components, things can get scary)!
Anyway, we have players from timezones all around the globe already. We have not fixed times but eventually we might. Myself I see about 1/4 to 1/2 my ddo time being spent on this until some new content comes out. It brings lots of laughs and close calls! Hop on wayfinder roll a toon and find us!

Great! Sent you a guild invite. See you in game!
I'de also make a few adjustments to the Rules...
1. only allow trading if it was from a looted chess in a non-public area, including airships.
We have not purchased a ship yet. We might not ever purchase a ship, because we have not decided if ship buffs will be allowed or not. Guild is lvl 12 right now, but I'm not sure we have enough plat between us to buy a ship! Anyway, we don't have strict rules on trading because we are all there for the same reason, the different type of challenge and we are challenging ourselves. So if someone cheats and uses the AH and trades the cool item to their guildy, they are only cheating themselves! We do not attempt to police that, let his/her conscience be the guide!
2. You can acquire bags (Ingredient, Gem, Collectable & Augment), they must be empty.
Yes the tiny free bags are fine. No big bags from alts though. Part of the challenge is inventory management without store bought items and freebies from bank toons!
3. Insert a line after Rule 1, to see if it is an iconic. Have that optional Boolean check
We rolled up iconics yesterday FYI. We did not wipe so they are there for future runs. The decision was made to run Iconics just to try it out. Lordsmarch lvl 13 quests on elite were very challening FYI. Granted there were only three of us, with a full party would have been modestly difficult but not so time consuming!
Basically, Rule #3, can be abused....scratch it!
--3. You cannot trade with players other than those in your group (or guild)--
Yes, agree that over time this would get abused. For now I don't see it as an issue as everyone is dirt poor with no resources or gear of any value!
I was reading other PD rules over the weekend, as we get more players and a solid schedule going on, we will discuss and make some changes to the rules. But basically, we really don't want to make "policing" part of the rule set. We are all part of a group of players just wanting a different challenge, and we will work on an honor system for the most part.

rulez ... more or less. The new gaming experience is a blast for me. Makes the game so much better as hoping around with my known toons.
i lost 2 of my chars. farewell to Shantee and Shantei.
Shantee was a Little dump sorc - who thought he could beat the champ shaman alone as last survivor. RIP
Shantei was even dumper as dying in storehouse secrets with an angry mimic on her neck.
I met a lot of great new Players .... thx for that. I hope this gets a real lasting Project.
My thoughts so far:
should we consider a Name System .... to know the Players behind the toon. for example the same surename ?
there are Problems with guild inviting if nobody from the Officers are on. so we made a 2. guild with Name "finding toy soldiers".

Along with Viktim - I've had a great time with this, a nice challenge. (Nice running with you again today Vik)
One feature I've seen/heard of in other PD guilds is the idea of an heirloom item passed down to toons - that upon death one and only one item can be passed down to the newly rolled character. I love that idea,. Thoughts on that?

Sorry for the multiple threads but had one other thought.
What would you think about having minimum difficulty requirements based on character level?
Say any quest under character level must be played on elite (or highest difficulty character is able to open), quests at character level can be played on hard, and quests above character level can be played on normal or casual?
It seems like if we can all open any normal and run with it any time this just turns into a potential grindfest where we all safeguard our favorite toon by questing in "easy" situations, but with these rules the nervous factor should stay at least a little bit high and we'll always be required to work well together or solo with great care and trepidation. Thoughts on this?
Thanks. -H
Well from now on all my toons will be RT-something. Just makes it easier.
I know TOOTH was making all TOOTH-something. Just pick some prefix or suffix and go with it. I don't see it a need to make it a "rule" though! But it is convenient.

Yes, I went through a bunch of other PD rules. What I want to avoid is long list of rules! KISS (keep it simple and short) is my approach to guild rules of any kind (not just PD). So, we just left it as no shared bank stuff, and trade only with guildies (meaning ones that never died), and the dead takes with it what it has when it dies (in bank, inventory, etc.). This makes it level playing ground for new players, i.e.: when they roll a build they are on 100% even ground with the guild leader who also rolls a build the same day!

So far we are only running elite. I mean, that's the point right?
Well since we eased up on the rules we have only been running elite.
In the beginning, we had very rough "roll" rules. Where you rolled for your first class, made your toon, THEN rolled for your next lvl class at the time of your level. This made for a high probability of a gimp'd toon. You would end up with a sorc/arti/rogue with max CHA and no INT, etc. But after bringing in several people from Khyber on a couple of runs it was obvious people hated the fact that they had to multiclass with 3 classes of complete randomness (and complete random lvl splits), with no idea how they had to spec toons stat points or feats in the early levels to make a viable build. Yes, running normal or hard for these types of toons was seen as OK.
Now that we have the option to go pure, and roll your multiclass ahead of time so you can plan, AND split your levels how you like, ELITE should be the rule. Since we changed to this system and posted rules we have only run ELITE. Again, it comes down to policing, nobody wants to police the players who run in PUGS or run solo, so its up to you. In general we will only run elite. but it is not a concrete rule. We are only challenging ourselves and if you feel casual is your speed go for it! :)

Hi everyone,
first of all thanks a lot for all the interest shown in our little PD project .... So far we tested a couple of things and it seems to be fun the way we have set it up. We might need to make adjustments here and there along the way .. We will figure it out as we play.

PLAY TIME will be " " " 8:30am to 10:30am EST every SATURDAY and SUNDAY " " ":
As we are all in different time zones I thought below might help

20:30h - 22:30h Bangkok

Hey SPlunge,
1. If you have 32 point build available lucky you! I have drow unlocked now but a ways to go for 1750! yes you can roll 32 point builds.
2. We have now fixed times 8:30am to 10:30am EST every SATURDAY and SUNDAY. I believe there are some that have joined that wish to play more often (even daily). So roll a toon, send a mail to KAWKPHITE, I will send you a guild invite. Maybe post up with times here you are most likely to play.

Hey Mamavox,
yes, you can use your daily/weekly roll. No problem at all.

This sounds very interesting and fun and with an even field for everyone.
I would probably add a rule - have 1 main in guild as officer that does not play so you can send yourself a guild invite if need be...
Plus I would use to count the reiteration of the same toon - if I call myself ihatePD (registered name as soon as I can log on to wayfinder - thanks for 7 hours downtime turbine...) - my other toon will be named ihatePD a, then ihatePD b, c, ... aa, ... aaa (I die a lot) so we know what 'life' this toon is on. Plus the fact that you have a main that is always alive, kind of NPC, you can go in party with other guildies and roll dice to create the new toon. No cheating then. You can add the witness in bio.
The multiclass roll is a bit much imo, a 3 multi class can be rough but knowing in advance you can at least adjust your stat. I did not see any rules as to when you need to take those, so can I assume the player chooses when?
Currently in Europe - doubt I can play at the proposed time as family is wide awake (...) but I really like the spirit of the guild and would like to join.

All my toons start with Abby
and please please please... dont' call me "dude" :rolleyes:
I won't be much on during the "official time" as I work everyother week-end but I'll logg on other time.
Looking forward to meet all of you
PS : love your virtual roller but you need to finish it so it give the result of what you roll... not just the number :)
Um, for those at work :-) virtual dice roller at https://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm (for the 1d2, 1d3, 1d13; change the left column on bottom dice for face #)

We may end up making this a rule, so far several of us are using naming conventions already ( all my toons start with RT for the most part )

1. you spread your levels how ever you like.
2. multiclass brings in a whole different level of "tweaking" on builds. Evasion, some enhancements, bonus feats, etc. We wanted to eliminate the "exploit" builds and standard "splash builds" temptation. So, you have the CHANCE you will roll that great splash class, but chances are you will end up having to plan around something totally different and force yourself to think out of the box and be challenged. Yes, rolling for multiclass will most likely present you with the biggest challenge (often), but may give you the superior build (rarely!)
Currently in Europe - doubt I can play at the proposed time as family is wide awake (...) but I really like the spirit of the guild and would like to join.
Well suggest you join and then collaborate with others on the times you can play.
Logged on, found a member, joined but party chat was broken on my end, I did the roll took a screen shot of it and decided to create the toon this morning, was so happy, FVS, yeah!, dwarf, meh, with druid splash, no biggie, to realize that i could not play as a FVS... **** you DDO! I re-rolled, did not like it, rerolled again... and again so decided to do one thing, I used the online die, pressed all the numbers, I only looked at the result for the 1d3 and it was a 1 - so here is the result that I have not seen myself will check after I post:

Sad to see my itsy bitsy lil toon go .... Hopefully we last longer than waterworks this time around Rt, specially with a full group :D
And yeah it is a LOT of fun. I think I will be going on there often to see if anyone is on during random times of the day to play.
My playtime is erratic however, you know ill be there for the Saturday and Sunday runs for the playtimes mentioned by Foochy and Rt.
P.S. Its really nice to see people interested in a challenge and join in the FUN :-)

If you roll a multiclass with three classes, must you use each of those classes at lvls 1,2, and 3 or can you hold off till later?
Thanks.
If you roll a multiclass with three classes, must you use each of those classes at lvls 1,2, and 3 or can you hold off till later?

Well, you can roll it however you like. You can take levels as you see fit, no specific order or number of each classes.
A bit of background for you, originally we started rolling toons lvl 1, then roll for your next class, then roll for next, then roll for your next, at each level up. But, this proved to almost guarantee to gimp most toons because:
1. You had no clue what your next two classes would be when you allocated your starting stats, skills and feats;
2. You had no clue as to what your 3rd class would be when you got your 2nd class;
3. The probabilities of being pure (or 2 class) were extremely low (if not impossible);
4. Your class level splits were all based on rolls, and not at all a build strategy so this made 99.99% of toons gimped. We had a lot of complaints although this was also very fun in its own way ;)
So, yes, you can multiclass but have to roll for the build. You can spread your classes out how you like considering you know your classes before you make your toon. I honestly suggest that everyone running TRY a pure before even attempting to roll multiclass.
Also, the whole point of this experiment is to have multiple toons, keep them alive, and see what sticks!

I think we should buy a ship and the Chronoscope buff. I have several platcapped characters on Wayfinder and I can easily sponsor this endeavor. I'll try to log on during the fixed times during the weekend and maybe discuss this online.

Your generosity is much welcome. But, we have not decided whether to actually ever make a guild ship with buffs. Come join us on the weekend event, roll up a toon. It would be awesome to be a lvl 200 guild with no ship and buffs...???

I was on less than 1 hour ago and lots at level 4 and new people joining so easy to start new toons and join - just be careful of mimics, this events makes low level undergeared toons very susceptible to deaths...

Just rolled and created:
Thanatopsis Emrys
1: Male
1: Dwarf
4: Cleric
1: Lawful Good
No Multiclass, as this is my first character (good suggestion)
So pretty straightforward, except I've never really played a Cleric....lol
This will be fun. I'll hop on soon, set the hotbars and send an in-game message for a guild invite. I'm really looking forward to this.
Should I skip Snowy Side Korthos?

Thanks for the invite!
Clerics and FVS are going to be huge help, we ran to lvl 4 earlier today and I have high hopes for my Drow FVS to make it to 20!
I'm glad you rolled a cleric! Having healers for these groups is a major plus! Hope you enjoy it, clerics are great fun to play. See you in 3 hours hopefully we have 2-3 full parties running around on our first scheduled run!

Yes was fun, thanks for joining. We had "Crimson Eagles PD" join us :) Now we are wondering how many other Khyber guilds are going to wander over and make a PD variant on Wayfinder? Just in case we started the channel KHYBERPD on Wayfinder.
Tomorrow AM several of us are going to start with Iconics at lvl 15 (although we may stop at lvl 12 on the way and do a Tempest Spine run). I already rolled a PDK ftr/ranger in prep. See you all Sunday morning!

Having a great time.
Had situations where I had to make rulings, and since I was an officer, I just thought and spoke.
{I'll stand by them, but let your own and others decide your ways.}
Q: Can I use Vet I / Vet II?
IMHOwcbw: Yes, since we are allowed iconics.
Q: Can I use hirings?
IMHOwcbw: Yes, if you buy them from a vendor. It is an "ect" in the rules.
Q: Can I craft with cannith crafting?
IMHOwcbw: Yes, as long as you don't use DDO store to get ingrediants/potions.
Q: Can I turn in collectables?
IMHOwcbw: Yes, since they are vendors.
Q: Can I mail items?
IMHOwcbw: Yes, that is like trading between guildies.
Q: Can I retreat out of quest if I am afraid of dying?
A from leaders: Yes.
IMHOwcbw: Its a matter of honor, but yes you could. Honestly try to save others before recalling. Some permadeath systems don't allow this.
Q: If I manage to TR can I choose my new classes instead of rerolling
IMHOwcbw: Good question. One could say, not character creation, therefore immune. One suggestion was if you rolled you could exclude your past lives from the rolling.
Q: My party was in a quest, which we failed. Part of the party was dead, however the situation was such that the party felt we could have raised them up easily. However, since the quest failed, we were booted from the quest. Everyone found themselves outside alive. Does this force deletions of toons.
IMHOwcbw: Reading rules carefully, no you don't need to delete. Looking at a pnp DM point of view, a DM would have played the quest out, allowing the rescue. Although it could be considered a gray area, I ruled not deleting. Quest was stealthy, 2 toons alive and an active hire. I was alive and definately could have worked my way to the dead. Shrine was already opened.
Q: I am grouping with someone using different permadeath rules than I. Do I have to use their rules?
IMHOwcbw: Abide by your own/guild rules. Each player is going to have a bit of difference particularly grouping with other PD guilds.
Q: Can I pike in a quest?
IMHOwcbw: If the party is comfortable with it and you don't make a habit of it, yes. Like any other questing.

so here goes my 1st toon...
after that, checked the meaning of the values and, well, i was supposed to take another 2 screenshots that can't find lol
after checking the values, i saw that my 3rd class pick was bard, so had to reroll, next class was 10, ranger
also noticed later that my alignment roll was wrong, it should be max 1d2 cause monk was my 1st class, so ended being a 2, lawful neutral
so i created a warforged monk that went wis based, then took 2 ranger lvls for twf (because my dex sucks obviously lol) and... i'm quite lost right now, took zen archery as lvl 3 feat because i'm not sure if i will go melee or not, not sure about the leveling order yet, im assuming that my rogue lvl/lvls will be the last ones to take rofl
lots of thoughts and things i wanna do and wanna be, most time i'm thinking "gonna die now, gonna reroll" but i'm not lucky, at all, came with a guildie from thelanis who ended rolling a cleric... drow maybe? and we only can open norm so... not sure if we will die at some point, did not too many quests n/h/e, when we could, because cannith crystal we couldn't keep the crystal, after the 3rd mob it was banged XD
btw silver post solved some questions i had in mind
if we survive a bit more, guess we'll beg for invites!
btw, almost 1k pp!!! guess i should start buying some repair pots

We are allowed multiple toons, so if you don't like a toon badly, its ok to just delete it.
Obviously jumping off high places is not against the rules, so giving up is ok.
Its fun to try out new builds, like Fawnsfolly is a elf ranger and its fun.
if we survive a bit more, guess we'll beg for invites!
you don't need to screen shot rolls, but posting the toon's name is great way to get a guild invite mailed to you

This is for a toon I created (currently level 8) on Wayfinder.
She is not currently in the PD guild, but is following these rules, which are not meant to replace the very good existing rules, I just wanted to create something in between true Permadeath and normal play...
Ruleset name Life/Honor/Karma counters
Go to Wayfinder to roll your new Toon.
A new character has three counters, these counters start with the same amount.
Life/Honor/Karma totals depend upon starting options (level 1 = 13, Vet = 12, Vet II = 11, Iconic = 10, Reincarnate restarting at level 1 = 13, Reincarnate restarting at Iconic = 10) Thirteen is a "Baker's Dozen" and is deeply incorporated within Eberron Lore. {The creator of Eberron is Keith Baker, and most everything in Eberron has 12 plus a missing 1 = 13.} Goggle for in depth analyzes.
Life is lost (subtract 1) when you die (regardless of resurrecting/shrines).
{If your Life reaches zero, you must delete your toon.}
{Deaths in raids do not subtract from your life total.}
Honor is lost (subtract 1) when you fail to finish a quest.
{If your Honor reaches zero, you must give away/destroy your loot including Platinum.}
{Failures in raids do not subtract from your Honor total.}
{Recalling from a quest to guide a uncertain player thru a wilderness does not subtract from your honor total.}
Karma is gained (add 1) when you complete a raid.
{If your Karma reaches zero, nothing happens. You may subtract X Karma and to add 1dX to Life or Honor. You cannot subtract more Karma than you have.}
Item usage:
DDO Store items are not allowed.
You may not withdraw anything from your shared bank that is not considered this toon's property.
Auction Houses of any sort are not allowed.
In game vendors and crafting is allowed.
You can receive trades from other players provided you were present in the party (even if afk in a public area) when the party member looted/received from end reward/purchased from vendor. You can grant trades only if they do not violate the receiver's PD/other codes of honor.
If your honor goes to zero, you can protect Y items from destruction (where Y = Current Toon's Past Lives +1).
If you delete your toon, you can place Y items in your shared bank (where Y = Current Toon's Past Lives +1). Should you make another toon with the same name they can pull those items from your shared bank as if they were your own.
Random Character Creation
the Toy Soldier's random race/class selection (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s83lnIIXJ95QBs18AGJIZNA9AHELAjDRLoC0VvWh5RM/pubhtml?gid=1791036880&single=true)
Any rolls that result in null numbers ~ you do not have access to / incompatible alignment / multiclass duplicate / etc ~ should be rerolled. Reincarnations may reroll any class they already have a past life in.
Sex ~ does not really affect game play, so rolling could be optional.
Roll 1d2
1 = Male
2 = Female
Pick a starting status ~ since you want to group with others, rolling could be optional.
Roll 1d4
1= Level 1
2 = Vet I
3 = Vet II
4 = Iconic.
Roll for Race:
Heroic Roll 1d8
1=Dwarf
2=Elf
3=Halfling
4=Human
5=Drow
6=Half-Elf
7=Half-Orc
8=Warforged
Iconic Roll 1d4
1=Bladeforged
2=Sun Elf?
3=Purple Dragon Knight
4=Shadar-kai
Primary Class Roll 1d13
1=Artificer
2=Barbarian
3=Bard
4=Cleric
5=Druid
6=Favored Soul
7=Fighter
8=Monk
9=Paladin
10=Ranger
11=Rogue
12=Sorcerer
13=Wizard
Alignment roll 1d6
1=Lawful Good
2=Lawful Neutral
3=Neutral Good
4=True Neutral
5=Chaotic Neutral
6=Chaotic Good
Choose whether you wish to have one class, two classes or three classes for your build after all the other rolls are done.
Reroll on the class chart until you have the amount of classes you desire.
Hard Core Challenge ~ after creating your toon, cut your Life/Honor/Karma totals in half.
Gameplay:
You are not allowed to use ship buffs, however you may enter any airship you please to socialize, bank, mail items, use vendors present, etc...

That is against the rule number 4
4. You cannot pass currency, gear, anything from your shared bank to your toon. You also cannot send yourself gear from your other toons.
PD Ruleset (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s83lnIIXJ95QBs18AGJIZNA9AHELAjDRLoC0VvWh5RM/pubhtml?gid=1791036880&single=true)
There was some discussion about changing the trading rule:
3. You cannot trade with players other than those in your group (or guild)
later on but atm everyone is dirt poor, so it does not matter.
{As such it might be considered changing to thus someday:
You can receive trades from other players provided you were present in the party (even if afk in a public area) when the party member looted/received from end reward/purchased from vendor. You can grant trades only if they do not violate the receiver's PD/other codes of honor.
or a variation or other or leave as is...}

Sweet! I was playing over on Khyber for a bit today and didn't make my way to Wayfinder. I will try and hop on for a bit tomorrow.
- Thanatopsis level 5 (almost 6) Dwarf Cleric
Also, I will probably roll an Iconic tonight, but had some questions first?

- Are we multi-classing Iconics at all?
Thanks! See y'all soon :)

Hey all, am still pretty excited about this guild and have several toons rolled all the way from level 3 to level 9 (and could take 10). Have had some nice duo's on the weekends but not very many around otherwise. Would love to see the guild expand to the point where some day we all have toons across many level ranges and even run raids together. For now, a full or semi-full party is a great goal.
Anomally and I ran some Cannith challenges and crafted some goods on Saturday and Cincka and I conquered waterworks and the depth chains, and nearly wiped in Swiped Signet. (We survived thanks to Cincka's lightning fast fleeing and Fergus the bald hafling. Thanks for the good times guys.
I will almost always be on Saturday mornings from 5AM - 9 or 10AM EST and on Sunday afternoons from about 1PM to 4 or 5PM. If anyone wants to plan to be around at those times I'd love to get together.
Invite your friends and let's make this thing happen!

We had said previously 32 point builds are OK. Actually I have an alt that I would really like to favor grind 32 point builds on the server. But been very busy lately and not even able to make the weekend events we scheduled.
Hopefully we get a little more time over weekends to join the scheduled events the next couple of weekends.
Didn't see that when I read through the thread, missed it I guess. Sounds fun, I'll check the rule sheet and see what weirdness I can roll up. I just did a 10 pal/10 rog/8 epic iconic, so non traditional builds are nothing I shy away from.

Hey, I'm up for joining this it seems really fun. But are there any people at level 1 that i could group with or is everybody in set groups already?
I'll probably end up playing anyway, just wondering.

Hi Z - welcome to the guild!
I went VIP for the first time just to run this PD guild and be able to always open VIP. So I have a bunch of character slots I haven't rolled up yet and a many I have - if you're ever on, look me up and I'll gladly run with you with a low level toon or roll a new one. You can find me as Sheef,Yoof,Whoof, or some variant of those (Yyoof,Sheeef, etc.)

Sounds great, will send in-game mail. Is it OK if we are premium, but not VIP? I own most of the stuff, but VIP is over for me, and it's not worth it atm to get more.
Hi Maxx - there are several guildies that are premium only. You shouldn't have any trouble.

Thanks haha, I'll be sure to look For you in game.
Anyway my first PD character:
1d2: 1 Male
1d8: 1 Dwarf
1d3: 3 Classes (oh no)
1d13: 5 Druid
1d13: 13 Wizard
1d13: 4 Cleric
1d6: 5 Chaotic neutral
So this seems fun, gonna have to try and make up a build that will work haha
(Note- Probably gonna die quickly)

Today my main toon bit the dust.
She was beautiful - Drow, Bard Wiz (and eventually fighter) She had some nice gear including master craftsman +6 Health boots and a Tiefling's blade with a Ruby of Resonance (54)
Running Valak's With a hire.
She was lvl 10 and so far everything had been a cakewalk.
Then she met Valak.
He absolutely crushed us with his cones of cold. It was over in seconds.
The adrenaline was pumping but it was too late.
Sadness.

Rolled up a Helf Paladin all toon names will start with iron, not sure what I'm going to do with this toon this is actually the first time I'll have ever gotten use out of the race. Talked with Amon online look me up in Korthos if anyone is around.

Hello,
I am returning to DDO (was in Permadeath Guild before, never played otherwise…).
Rolled a "True Neutral Dwarf Ranger".
Will try to meet up with you guys…
Was looking for your ruleset: any difficulties etc. are okay, Hirelings?
Also, the PD group I used to play with had a 1 item inheritance object rule (family heirloom)
See you in game!
EDIT:
- made Moonmaster as the "head of my clan", to be invited and made officer if possible when the time comes, to invite other characters of mine
- named first character (Dwarf Ranger) Moonscout (and gave him the last name "I" since he's in his first life!)

Is this still going on? I'm getting bored of playing my uber 3x completionist and been trying to find a permadeath group, this one looks promising if it's still active.
I'd be able to play on most weekends, and some during the weekend. I have a very flexible schedule though, so could log on at a different time easily enough if I found myself soloing-pugging a lot.
Yes, and will try to do an event this weekend. Same times. People are still playing every day.
