Hi there,
The cleric Zomm Lightfinger of Sarlona would like to present to you a tutorial video that teaches through step-by-step instruction a method to obtain 15 adamantine ore - in under 30 minutes and spending less than 1000 platinum.
In the Black Anvil Mines, there is a forgesmith that can craft excellent Nightforge items (see the Definitive static rewards thread), but many players don't obtain the necessary adamantine ore in groups because of the necessity to split the ore with the group. This video takes a solo approach and contains plenty of commentary on not just this particular quest, but also on high level cleric battle tactics. I feel that most level 12 players of all classes can use and learn from the techniques I present in the video, and may even be a help for very seasoned DDO players.
I apologize for the low quality in advance but the video runs for 29 minutes. I am pleased to note however that I feel that my voice commentary is pretty clear. I would like to acknowledge Ozwyn of Aerenal for the original motivation to make this video.
Thank you for reading and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Enjoy watching! I hope this video is useful to you. Comments welcomed!

Well, helped correct my mistaken impression from when I did this the other day =-p
I went to hit the switches as I kept trying to find the chest and had no luck, and then found it really easy after I hit the switches, so I was thinking I had to hit them to spawn the chest =-(

I'm glad I could help you Demon. Aye what you said is true, no need to hit the switch, the chest with the key to the mines spawns as soon as you enter the dungeon (in a random room in the barracks). I hope you can finish it now (or have a better understanding of the quest) after watching the video. :)

Yeah I finished it the other day. Just took awhile, downside to doing quests you don't know.

Variation for wizards/sorcerers:
-dont need to fight the two hairy midgets in the first hallway, or anything in big open room as you come out of that hallway. Just pull them all to an out of the way area (and try to avoid pulling the summoners, it makes it a bit easier), either to the left or right side of the first tunnel, and throw up a d door. Good to have jump and fire resist.
-sneak from the entrance to the door where you go to get the key. Make sure patrolling fire elementals arent looking.
-open door while standing to the side of it, go back into sneak, pull lever for next door, go back into sneak.
-use solid fog and firewall to clear rooms with key and shrine. Stand outside door to the side and cast web to make this easier. Get key, d door at shrine, rest, go back to start.
-cast jump and fire resist again, sneak to locked door, make sure no ele's looking, open and run. Gather up as many of the hairy midgets as you can, fog, firewall. You can clear the whole area like this and pick up all the ore and fo.
-FYI I do this with a wf wiz, so earthgrab is not a worry. When you d door though, you lose aggro from the ele's, and as long as you sneak you wont grab it again. They dont usually try to grab me while herding them all up, but I could be wrong about that - dont exactlycare myself.

Thanks Ghoste for your great alternative method as an arcane caster. The wizards/sorcerers usually can do things much differently than other classes, so thank you for providing us with your tips on how to obtain 15 ore behind-the-robe so to speak.
Thanks Anton, I'm glad you liked the video.

Great, I'm glad Xandar! :D Enjoy your Nightforge item!
Edit: By the way, I am very impressed that you were able to get through it at only level 9. That is definitely not easy, you should be proud of your accomplishment. *nods in respect*

Just as a note, if you have a bard, you can do this in lik 5 minutes. Instead of fighting, u can just Fascinate everything you come to and run past them to get the key, then all of the ore. I farm this sometimes on my bard when I'm bored and sell it on the AH, almost made a business out of it.

Most of my guild now has their Nightforge thanks to you.
I work a swingshift so I often am the sole guildmember online, can be a tad boring at times. Anyway, I ran across your post and decided to give it a go (lvl 10 at the time). I can safely run it now (have not even tried it since the update to mod 4 & getting to lvl 14) in just a few minutes and gather the ore for a friend. I can reclear it later when they actully log on allowing them to do the turn in.
Kudos to you bud. Thanks for sharing the information.

Great, I'm glad I could help you and your guild Godrick. :) That's nice of you to clear out the dungeon for your guildmate's turn in, too. Enjoy those items!

Haven't taken a look at the video yet since I'm at work, but is this technique useable by a rogue?
Thanks.

After watching this video, I did it last night with my cleric 12/fighter 1.
My comments after one trip through:
The random key was in the back of the barracks on my visit, which sucked, but there is also a shrine along the way, which is nice.
The conjurers on the ledges can heal themselves so hit them hard and fast.
Hitting backspace really helps in finding ore.
I can jump over dwarves with ease.

Apollo,
Your comments made me laugh. :)
I'm glad the video worked for you. I'm sorry to hear about the key being in the very back, I hope that you were able to sneak through without much damage (I have picked up some elvenkind boots since making the video that help me when the key is way in the back). I hope you enjoy your item.

Did this with my 11 Fighter Duo with a cleric, was very easy after watching the video. But your comments on any class being able to solo it, meh. Tried 2 times solo. Was very easy up to the part with the 2 raging barbarians leading up to the rooms with the key. There was nothing I could do to damage them and keep myself healed at the same time.

Realistically, any class that can heal via spells can solo it easily.
I know I couldn't as easily solo it on my fighter, it might take the majority of my potions to do so (300, to be precise). Even with stunning and tripping everything possible, it'd still be hard on a pure fighter class (or even pure Barb).

Tactics:
Run around in circles (screaming loud of course) and gather mobs heal with wands meanwhile & cast something (fascinate) them around you.

---Update---
I've refined my method quite a bit. I made a video of it to demonstrate. The main difference is that instead of getting them to chase me in the big room, I get them to chase each other. Instead of killing them in the two hallways, I get them to kill each other. Much safer. Much faster.
Here's the link to the vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3C8fHJyVXw). If you click on "more by this user", I've got afew others.
