We hooked up with 2 Dwarven Brothers from another Tuesday night group, Gror the Barbarian and Gwidyon the Ranger, they were great fun, we were an all tank group and did well except for some traps in part 4.

Mica is back, no sign of Lysteria. We ran around Tangleroot exploring and battling rares. Grissom has found us a wizard to start next week.

7/10 Mica and Kantarou joined up with members of the other Tues. group. Started STK. No contact from Grissom. Meet Gror and Peiwit.

7/17 Mica and Kantarou once again joined up with the other Tues. team. Ran the optional quest in STK. No contact from Grissom.

7/24 Mica, Kantarou, Gror and Peiwit met at the Rusty Nail, join up with 2 people to do WW. I log in near the end of session to make contact. We should assume Grissom and Lysteria are gone for good at this point and Gror and Peiwit seem ready to be a permanent part of the team. That leaves one spot open now that I am back.

Caged Trolls on Elite
Attempted to free the Marketplace Barracks of Devils but we failed. We will try again with a full party and when we are lvl 9
VON 2 - We had a few failures by falling in this one, also had a tough time with the fire giant. Devilicious lent a hand on our last run and we were able to complete with her help (although she did not stick around for the final battle, she didn't want to complete the quest outside of her group).

3/25/08 Connyl, Draggoth, Kantarou, and Mica joined in a raid on Tempest Spine with Ardoon, Deviliscious, Heironeus, Janadanu, Mirwen and Nomar. We failed to defeat Sorjek but it was a close thing we made it to the final battle and had him almost half dead when the last man standing (Mica) was killed. There were only 10 of us mostly level 8 but some 6,7 and 10. We did not have all the runes. When we go back we will defeat him. Connyl, Kantarou and Mica went back in after being raised by a brother in House Jorasco. We did some scouting and found more treasure but were killed by a large party of drow and scorpions before we could find more runes.

4/1/08 Connyl, Draggoth, Kantarou, and Mica joined in a raid on Tempest Spine with Ardoon. Elijah and Mirwen from the other Tuesday night team. We rounded out the raid with some PUG people who were fun and did not rush. Bladeturne, Cardis, Kryninal, Lycannon and Seshomure. Tonight we were successful and we defeated Sorjek.

I have rolled up a Human Paladin named Connyl Niall who had not gotten out of the wavecrest yet. He is a 32 point build as I finally hit 1750 favor with my main. Although I have a great time playing my main with my guild, I would like to use this new guy in a dedicated group. Since I don't see any groups that need me right now I figured I would start a new one. Here is my criteria:

Tuesday night start at 8PM EST go until 11 or midnight on the Sarlona server.
RP with little to no voice chat (unless you are ic) which also keeps it no rushing.
Only play with each other unless you need to make up XP from a missed session.
No twinking with loot or pp from your other characters.
Share loot among the group the way a real party that stays together would.
Whatever other rules the group thinks we need.

Post if you are interested and also your Characters name/class.


Please post only if this is the right time slot for you and you can commit to playing. I realize stuff pops up but that is why I am picking Tuesday at 8 EST, this is when I have the best chance of always being there, if Tuesday night is not the best time join a different group or start a new one!



My characters background:

Connyl is the son of Conn, a Paladin who has smote evil in every corner of Stormreach. Conn started Connyl's training at a young age so he is actually stronger and more nimble that his Father was when he was a novice. Conn believes in discipline and hard work so he has sent Connyl out to make his way without any gold or fancy equipment. "You have been trained as much as possible, now you need to learn your own lessons and make your own way" said Conn. Connyl is eager and ready to make his mark on the world. He does not need hand me down Plate armour or a Holy Sword to deal with Kobolds. He has heard that the owner of the wavecrest tavern needs some help, he will go there first and offer his services.

We have a Ranger, a Rouge and a Paladin but other than those classes take your pick at what you want to play. If you want to play Fizzgig, you would need to reroll him to start with us at lvl 1 or possibly join us when we reach lvl 3. I think we could survive without a Wizard until then as long as Fizzgig only has his own platinum and items. We are playing without help from our high level characters.

Yes meet at the Wavecrest with your rerolled Wizard Tuesday March 27th at 8PM EST. Do the Wavecrest quest in advance (the one that lets you leave the wavecrest) but we can do everything else together. If we fill the last 2 slots before Tuesday we can take right off into questing. I rerolled Connyl last night. I skipped the training on the island and went straight to the Wavecrest, I did Old Scully's grog and Aida's necklace so I can get out of the Wavecrest. I sold the stuff from that quest and did buy a longsword, chainmail and a shield. I now have 5gp left. I am not doing anything else until we go out together.

I added all the characters names to my friends list and I am back in the wavecrest. I also added Thalion's characters to my friends list. He is the leader of the Dedicated Games Guild and whenever we are on at the same time as him he can invite us into the guild.

Looking at the other groups threads there will be times when we all can't play or people will have to leave etc and there sometimes seems to be some playing between the groups for fill ins out some group events on Sundays and someday raids if we get high enough level.

I kind of expect this to move at a pnp pace, it will most likely be months before we get high level. I rerolled Connyl last night because I realized my plans for feats etc were more long term and he might not have been fun to play until lvl 8 or so. Now I have him specced for more immediate fun, figuring he may never see lvl 8 or it maybe many months etc.

Hey all. I would be interested in joining you guys. What time zone is everyone in? I haven't yet played a cleric past level 3 so would be interested in that. I have a RP cleric char that I rolled on Thelanis that I liked a lot and was hoping to find a group like this to run with consistently. I have a couple of questions though:

1) I am on the East Coast and wouldn't be able to start till about 9-9:30 and would be able to play till about Midnight or so. Would you mind a 'late arrival'?

2) How did you all want to do the quests? Just do the quests on normal all the way through? Or find a 'rp' way to repeat quests at the appropriate level? RP through the first one and then run through the others for favor?

3) Would we try to get together at other convenient times during the week to run together more than just Tuesday?

Would you guys like me to reroll so as to not be ahead of you? I did all the solo only quests already and it sounds like most people would rather start without them. I wouldn't mind the RP aspect of being a little more experienced in the city if you guys wanted. And I'm sure the xp would flatten out pretty quick. I'm fine with you guys taking a single spot replacement for me if I'm not there (I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later).

To Jaivier: 1) I'm on East Coast time, though I may not always be able to stay up till midnight. I forsee a slight problem with our healer not logging in till later in the night once we get to harder stuff. We might not be able to do missions. I just worry that it's too vital a roll to be without, but I haven't played the game much.

2) As for doing quests, I'd prefer to RP them all on Normal and only go back for hard/elite if we find ourselves unable to progress through the quest list. I've only done most of the harbor quests and never touched almost everything else so I want to get to play them without going over and over along old ground.

3) I've got no problem getting together at other times if everyone agrees. Though I don't plan on being on a whole lot and I'd rather stick with the team.

Hey guys, I met up with Theft in game today and joined the guild, I can bring you guys in when I see you. I can only dedicate Tuesday nights to uninterupted play but I do get to play other times, I just don't know when those times are in advance. I will be on as my main Conn, probably late tonight and maybe some time tomorrow if my wife takes our daughter out to do something. I am getting excited about this, this could be a really fun way to play this game. It is fun playing a capped character and going for loot and favor but that does get old and this will be cool to really take in the scenery and quests and do some rp and not just blow through in the approved most effecient manner.

We do have 5, I sent a pm to remind everyone and I hope everyone shows up but RL has a way of getting in the way sometimes so feel free to show up at the wavercrest and see if we have 2 slots. Great time last night. Especially since we did quests I am sure we have all done plenty of times. I have my main at level 12 and various alts at levels 2-3 so once we get past water works, most of the quests I won't really know since I did them almost a year ago.

I figure we can use this thread to keep in touch, post if you will be absent or late etc.

I can also post what quests we have done, that way if you miss some you can either solo it or group with someone else to catch up. Most of these other groups seem to use that rule.

I think I will edit the original post, that way the info is easy to see.

We helped rescue a young lady, protected a glowing box and fought many a kobold last night. We did well especially since there were only four of us. Kantarou's healing power was needed often.

Grissom's clan had need of his services and he could not join us last night, at least that is what we gathered from the *note* he left for us at the Dinghy. It is great to have a barbarian fighting at your side but maybe Fizgig could teach him how to read and write. Of course we would have to find Fizgig first, I hope he did not meet a bad end, we have not seen him since last week.

We will meet again next week, same time and again at the Leaky Dinghy.

Carth, you can do as many or as little of the quests that we have done as you want, we are not too far ahead in terms of XP, ( I think I am about 11K). The new mod comes out today, I believe the Cerulean Hills is for our level, if so I think we should head out there on Tuesday. I do not plan on going out there with any other characters before Tuesday so that it will be totally new to me, the best of both worlds, new content and role playing it !

News has reached me that you are planning on setting out to the Cerulean Hills with your comrades. My initial reconnaissance of the area leads me to believe that there is indeed much more than wild beasts that have overtaken the area.

How this came to pass so near the city walls is disturbing in itself but something else is troublesome. I could not discern some of the tracks I came across, there appears to be a large group of these creatures and I fear they are organized!

Should we do Waterworks Tuesday or do some Wayward Lobster quests?
Waterworks would be cool but once we do it we probably won't go back to the harbor so if we want to do everything we might want to hold off.

Do we want to use the Auction House or should we ban it?
I don't have a problem with the Auction house from a RP perspective, the city is full of adventurers and they would want to sell some stuff they find. On the other hand it has been nice playing and not obsessing about gear and once you start looking at the Auction House you will want what is there. On the third hand :D chests can generate some bizarre effects on items and it is nice to have some decent items for when the quests get harder.

I'm up for either waterworks or any of the lobster stuff. As for the auction thing, I don't really plan on using it until we start losing missions, or I start dying an excessive amount. I don't think anyone has even fallen in battle yet, so I feel it's a rather moot point at this time.

Until such time as we do start having real trouble on quests, I'd say we shouldn't buy things unless people feel the random loot distribution is being really stingy and people get to be level 5 without a magic weapon!

Also sounds like we should avoid the Auction House until further notice, not that I imagine any of us really have any money anyway. We ran up to Guard Tember then decided to take a break and see if you came back. After a while we figured the storm got you so we did Stealthy Repossession. We will meet up in the Lobster again so you don't need to do any WW stuff but you could do Stealthy Repossession if you want. How is your Sneak and Hide? Mica pretty much did the whole thing while we hid. So if you can sneak and hide decently you might be better off without any clanking compatriots. :D

Well we have some decisions to make, last night Grissom said he has a friend who wants to take the caster spot which is great. I hadn't updated our thread yet though since I don't have any of the details. When it rains it pours because I received a PM from Oran Lathor interested in the caster spot. So now we have 2 where we had none. However we might have room for 2 new people since Lysteria has not been heard from since dropping group on 6/12. I am thinking at this point we should plan to take both new people into the group. After Tuesday 7/3 I am gone for the next 2 sessions on vacation so if Lysteria does come back we will have room for a while and the way we burn through wizards one of the new ones will be gone by then (just kidding).

I have invited Oran to post here and Grissoms friend is supposed to as well. What does the rest of the group think about our lineup?
They could both join as casters or one of them could roll something else up. Or we could take one and keep waiting for Lysteria.

Obviously, I would like to see Lysteria back, but after 2 weeks and no contact I'm afraid that it doesn't look good. I think that 2 casters would be fine. With a paladin, barbarian and rogue in the group we should be fine for melee. A wizard along with a sorc or bard would really round out the group, IMHO.

The only issue I see is Con getting jealous because he won't be getting any more DVs. :D

I keep thinking Necropolis. How about Delera's been a long time since I ran that, are we high enough level ? Or Stormcleave. We seem to be handling things pretty easily so a little challenge would be nice.

Also I noticed I have built up some platinum. We did decide earlier to not use the auction house but that brokers were ok. Still I somehow don't know if buying a sword is as cool as finding one. So I might buy a sword at the brokers or I might not. Anyone have any thoughts?

The necropolis doesn't sound bad, but I would like to wait on Deleras until we are all 5th level. There are a number of 5-6 level quests out there that we have not done yet; we haven't hit anything in 3 barrel cove for example. Stormcleave is another one we should wait on until everyone is 5th level as well (lvl 8 quest so anyone 4th lvl would get geared down loot).

I'm looking forward to hitting Sorrowdusk Island for Grey Moon and the adventure area, not to mention later on for CO6. Oh, and Redwillow and Gwylans in the very near future as well.

As for the weapon, well, looting or receiving a usable, decent weapon as a reward is always the best. However, sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. I have no problem at all with buying a weapon from a broker.

Actually, speaking of plat, I've noticed that I'm not having to speand as much on wands, etc with Kant as with my other clerics and bards. It's kind of nice that I don't need to blow 3/4ths of my money on wands to keep the group alive.

Ok, and last but not least. I will not be able to make it next week (10/2).

Tonight it was Mica, Mayidil and Kantarou so we worked on Mayidil's House P favor. We ran Purge the Heretics to Kant's sorrow and Rest for the Restless on hard. We then finished up Tangleroot from part 5. Mayidil had to save Kant and Mica's soulstones from the cluches of the last 2 arcanes in Rest for the Restless, but it was a good night all together.

Looking forward to Gwylands next week when the whole group is present.

My group currently has 2 level 8’s and 2 level 7’s plus we’ve been joined the last few week by two others from the guild who have been trying catch up in XP to their group. Their level 7 and 6 I think.

Personally I think we should wait a week or two until most everyone is level 8. It’s a long fun quest, but it can be frustrating if we go in too underpowered since the basic quest is level 10. However, I’m willing to give it a shot tonight if everyone else is onboard with the idea.

Well as expected we did go down in a blaze of glory, wiped out by Sorjek. It was a blast though. We did very well the whole quest but we did not get all the runes apparently so we had a hard time hurting Sorjek. If we repeat we could defeat him easily now.
Also we only had 10 in the raid, if we had our missing sorcerous firepower of Mayidil and Elijah we would be fine. We can talk about it in the Nail next week but I think we should do it again. We could jump right back next Tuesday or do it the week after. If we hold off a week most of my group will be level 9 which will also help.

I was thinking about the mod myself, very possible that our session will be disrupted. I did notice that you can now download the client update in advance (150 mb) and apply the patch early. I did that this morning. I assume I will have a small or no download once the mod goes live. You can dowload the patch on the ddo computer or on another computer.

If a lot of people do this it, then hopefully the servers won't crash or be lagged. However it is entirely possible that the servers won't be up at all at 8PM EST based on some previous mod releases.

I just saw that the new Three Barrel Cove Explorer area is level 3 to 8, so having level 9's in our party would kill the XP for any L-8's we have and of course the L-9's would not get any benefit regardless.
