Hi, I’m returning after some time away. Is the Arcane Archer tree going away? My build uses the tree and it’s still there. If I reset or reincarnate will I lose the tree? Thanks.

Archetypes like Dark Hunter are subclasses. They exist alongside the "regular" versions of the class, which remain unchanged. So your Ranger will stay a Ranger until you decide to change it into a Dark Hunter. If you reincarnate, you'll be asked to choose between the two. As long as you choose Ranger, you'll still have everything you do now.

No.

AA tree/DH tree are mutually exclusive though; which sucks as it would allow for non rogue splashes to take advantage of the added Trapfinding ability of DH (Disable is still cross class but can be overcome with items (CC Goggles of DD/Insightful DD)).

Also sucks that you lose out on some of the Imbue dice (Alchemist gets more than AA which was the original tree that used Imbues before they became the new "Imbues").

IMHO: AA needs an update after the Imbue update.

When you reincarnate, as you choose your class, after you choose Ranger, you'll get to pick between regular Ranger, and Dark Hunter.
Dark Hunters don't have access to Arcane Archer, so if you need that tree, don't pick Dark Hunter :)

You'll lose the imbues but I'm pretty sure you can get more damage with the sneak dice available.

Just to add, you can still get access to arcane archer via the racial route if you're an elf or half elf, though it'll cost you a pretty significant pile of racial APs & have slower progression.

It depends on your AP investment. In order to win the DPS per AP fight, AP spent has to be around 14. Less or more AP and AA wins. Sneak doesn't have 100% uptime, too. So, in practice it's usually a win to loose a little sneak dps for more reliable dps elsewhere.
