I didn't get to watch the Pax east hour until after dinner but I appreciate the link and chance to have seen it.
(32) PAX East 2023 - Dungeons and Dragons Online: How Game Devs Build Dungeons - Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1773490039)
For anyone that missed it.
I found the show very interesting and thought provoking to see the process from pitch, to resource discussion, to dungeon/world building. I would have liked to have seen at least some rudimentary dungeon decorating but perhaps if they continue to give us episodes on the build of whichever quest is chosen we can see that sometime in the future?
The earlier survey/vote ended with Deal with a Dragon and Cats as the winners and then quest ideas were pitched by Nohbob, Torc, and Artemist. There is another survey where you can vote for which quest idea you like best... not sure if I can link it correctly because I've already voted and it now takes me to a generic create your own survey site.
Find the vote on Surveymonkey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8DRFC3V)
Hope that worked.
Not to influence your vote but Nohbob's Wandering Cat-tastrophe has mine. (Sorry Torc, Artemis) The very idea of a cat polymorphed into a dragon and knocking gargoyles off building ledges amuses me immensely. I also love, love, love outdoor quests and urban exploration. In particular repurposing city zones for quest zones is thrilling and Chronoscope is still one of my favorite raids because of it. Using Summerfield has some interest... but I would like it better and would hope to see several city zones reused demonstrating some further interconnection. Its always more immersive to me when I can see where some portion of the city or quest is in relation to other areas of the city. Yes, I know Summerfield is connected to Lordsmarch Plaza but does it connect anywhere else to any other known portion of the city? Could there be an alley perhaps that connects to the plaza in front of the Tower of Frost? Or perhaps there is a building or door that goes between Summerfield and the Condemned/No Entry cul de sac that once lead to the Sane Asylum? Perhaps scrap Summerfield altogether and reuse the Night Market instead, either physically connecting it to the Harbor and using some of the Harbor for combat (NEW and potentially a lot of fun!) or connect the Night Market to the Marketplace and let us have regular quest style combat in the Marketplace again (not a raid) that harkens back to the first world event.
I also enjoyed the idea of a giant ball of yarn chasing us Indiana Jones boulder style down an alley. Another suggestion in that vein... perhaps we could use the Mirror light beam puzzle or maybe those laser guns from the pirate ship in Storm the Beaches to laser guide the kitty-dragon somewhere?
There were a couple loot ideas that were suggested on the stream/comments AFAIR:
Ball of Yarn Orb
Cosmetic Cat Ears (Maybe like a headband?)
Possible other ideas that occur to me:
A collar perhaps with the same dmg as the type of dragon into which the cat was polymorphed
A cat-nip consumable that gives a bonus to animal empathy, with a hidden effect for Tabaxi players maybe Goodwill?
A light-based rune-arm to continue the laser toy theme
A cosmetic kitty that matches the one from the quest (small chance)
Cat's Eye Glasses
Mimic Flesh-Wood? Shield
Dragon Cloak - Maybe looks like a dragon wing draped or hanging from shoulder(s)
I am by no means suggesting use all of these, I'm just brainstorming.
