Last night I was unable to move one character off server.
Anybody know where I should look on my system to see what went wrong?
Also, how do I proceed further with this character, which actions should I take to ensure this character gets moved to the server of my preference?

I've had the same problem I have multiple tunes unguilded that won't transfer and I've put in multiple tickets about it with no response, and the Free transfers are about done. I've had the 1st help ticket in almost a month ago, so I guess they can't fix the problem and don't want to admit it, and don't respond to help request since they don't have a solution.

I could see a non-leader getting tossed the hot potato as the leader(s) were jumping ship, but if he had no guild... yeah. :/
I hope you got it resolved, or weren't looking for a "Free" transfer - that offer, all those offers, expired about 10 minutes ago as the game came down for maintenance. :(

Try creating a new character, leave them by the grotto with Jeets and see if you can transfer your other character.

There should be an email confirmation that indicates success or failure. Maybe check your spam folder. What you are experiencing sounds like the problem during hardcore that resulted in this transfer period.

Yeah, those emails got send to an old, may I add "very" to that, email address of mine.
Changed it in the account settings, which also was a hassle to find out how to access that.
For those interested, I could move other characters without any problems.
The character that can't be moved is not a guild leader or part of any guild.
I could move characters that were in a guild.

Bugged character data (or item data) causing issues? Does that same character have issues when you try to copy them to lam?

That part is different than the prior issue - all transfers failed previously.
There are 2 destination servers. You can try transferring it to the other server and then from their transfer to your desired server. Unfortunately that is not without risk as you might get that character stuck on the other server.
I had that with a lamannia transfer. In my case it failed because I was guild leader of a secondary guild we have. I promoted a different character and it continued to fail after that. Somehow the failed copy did something that prevented future copies. I was able to transfer the next time Lamannia was open, but presumably the whole server was wiped including whatever was preventing the copy.
Good luck! I hope you are able to get it resolved.
