View Full Version : All the Xorian 'Madness' Quests should constitute a saga. Would be nice...

You could re-incline people's interest in the packs with a loot pass / graphic update tweak and XP balancing.

+ Pre-Quest Delirium (15-17)

Chain 1, 4 Quests (Missing, Sinister Storage, Fear Factory, In The Flesh)

Chain 2, 4 Quests (Acute Delirium, Sane Asylum, Lord of Stone, Lord of Eyes)

Chain 3, 3 Quests (Palace of Stone, Fashion Madness, Terminal Delirium) all of which are pretty fun.

Feels like the Saga could be tied together. I'd gladly welcome a rework for these quests. You could even level-balance them OR add new content to fill them out.

This has been asked for several times, we've been told sagas are difficult, time consuming and really only worth the effort for expansions. Shouldn't it include Invaders as well? An argument could also be made that Path to Madness, Xorian Cipher, and Dreams of Insanity belong as well. I could see them maybe going to the effort if they ever release a Xorian mini-expansion or another Xoriat adventure pack then if they wanted it to have extra value or a high price they might add the Xoriat saga as additional incentive.

There are 3 "Madness" Quests taking place in "Sleeping Spell Inn":
- Delerium
- Acute Delerium
- Terminal Delerium

Durk Appears in a couple of Quests:
- Good Intentions
- The Sane Asylum
- As a Quest giver for Palace of Stone and His Secret

Doesn't Threnal and CO6 have something to do with Xorian?

What am I trying to say here anyway that hasn't been posted by someone else...

Ah yeah, at least some Durk flavored reward, like a feat that gives you the Dragonmark of Madness, not sure what it does or should do.

How about a Xorian flavored theme quests where we have to:
- Put all the books in a library out of order
- Remove all road signs in a forest
- Build a bridge that leads nowhere
- Break up a puzzle or solve it in the wrong way
- Stay away from the exit in a labyrinth while the while playing upside down (I doubt this will be a popular quest)
And of course, we have to give the quest giver a reward instead of the other way around.

I'd love more epic sagas of any kind to encourage me to branch out to more content during ERs.

Ewww... if there was a saga, that would mean those quests would get run more and honestly... Ewwwww.... barf.

I can't imagine they would give the amount of XP required to make me consider them. Perhaps 200K heroic and 1mill Epic might do it....

:p I like many of those quests, thank you. Not on HC though... beholders on HC is too much blood pressure.

They are ok. That is the kindest thing I have to say about almost all of them. There are a couple that are actually ok, but most of the are truely meh. There are reasons why some DDO quest are run constantly and others are not.

Aye, you are correct. I'm pretty sure I made several of those in the past. Still if I put it out there enough times maaaaaybe I get lucky eh?

You make a good point. A rework of the plot or another pack as a big finale? Conspicuously missing are the other Daelkyr (although they did have some influence on HC).

And as another poster noted, poor Durk does appear in a lot of this... I'd like a classic twist reveal that he was actually an acclaimed Wizard before the horrors of Xoriat got to him...

If they did another pack as a big finale they could include some of the special champions from the HC Season IV, it would be neat to see some of the other Daelkyr too. Belashyrra and Orlassk aren't the only ones trapped in Khyber. I'd like it if they brought in Kyrzin Prince of Slime and Lord of Blight, he has an aura of babbling madness fitting for an influence on Dirk, and he is credited with the creation of Oozes, Mimics and Gibbering Mouthers. It would be awesome to finally get Gibbering Mouthers in the game and it would be no poor thing to get a few new versions of mimics such as coin pile, rubble pile, barrel, crate, maybe a painting, etc; could use some of the animated objects as beginner points for new mimic types. Kyrzin also has something to do with disease so maybe? a connection to the Age of Rage quests as well. But I think Kyrzin makes sense for a deranged fellow that lives in the sewers mostly.

If they wanted a more beholder, illithid, elder-brain pack I wouldn't say no... although other than Intellect Devourer we have most of the classics of that theme... maybe we might finally see the Cranium Rats as in-game mobs? But might be a little boring after so much of that already. However, keeping the Daelkyr locked away and off the prime material plane of Eberron is part of the Gatekeepers duties and they have been doing a lot with the Gatekeepers lately.
