need help for instakill sorc

Hi all, new player here. Im only on my 4th life, and for my next build I was thinking about an instakill sorc since I stumbled upon some videos and I really really liked it. I know its kinda hard/impossible to play a DC caster without past lives (I only have 1 wiz past life for dc) but is there any way I can make it work? Also a couple of questions:

Does it work in heroics or I should just play fire sorc till 29 then swap?

Gear/sets for heroic/epic?

what's the difference between sorc instakill and something like pale master?

Its kinda hard to find builds online that are not outdated in this game so I could really use some help!

It works but it's only optimal on 8 skulls reaper or higher.

Instakill spells are on long cooldowns. Dragon breath, damage spells and crowd control spells are not. You can kill multiple packs of mobs at lower skulls while Wail, CoD and Weird are coming off cooldown.

At level 20+ I think feydark illusionist works better than fire savant, even on the pure damage sorcerer. You lose a bit of damage but your damage is overkill already. Same for the shadowdancer mantle. I was running Draconic Incarnation maxed with the shadowdancer mantle last life.

Honestly, I think Warlock is better suited for purpose build instant killer, Sorc just does not have enough good instant kills available, but it can be done, I use the hell out of PK & Finger, w/ 114 DC PK, it lands more often than not even in high reaper.
