So kind of a strange one, I reported this as a bug but wondered if anyone else ran into this problem or if it's a known thing and I just did a silly.

When I used a mirror of glamering on a weapon, that I had at the time enchanted with the feydark illusionist "imbue with shadow", it has now permanently copied the "imbue with shadow" version of the weapon. Tested with a fresh login, ensuring no current "imbue with shadow" buff was on.

It looks cool and all, but I like the idea of imbuing my sword with shadow as an indicator that I have the buff active.. did I just kind of waste a mirror? Ahh well.

It did exactly what it's supposed to do, copy the current appearance of the weapon.

You did a silly.

As Phoenicis writes, using a mirror copies the currently active graphics on the weapon. So naturally it shows the shadow effect.

If you had used the mirror without without the shadow effect the cosmetics would be without it yes. But it would show the cosmetic, not the actual weapon, so when you cast shadow it would still not show like you want.

If you want to see shadow on your weapon to know if it is active or not you can not have any cosmetic equipped.

Thank you! Makes (unfortunate) sense. I thought the shadow effect worked like how barkskin works, but I suppose its coded in a different way based on the weapon. Live and learn.
