Bug: Ring of Shadowblades turns Blade Barrier useless

I noticed on my FvS, that when I redid her enhancements, and took the tier 5 enhancement Ring of Shadowblades from the Feydark Illusionist tree, that my regular Blade Barriers ceased to function.
I know about not linking 2 Blade Barrier spells together, this is not it. Even a solitary Blade Barrier did absolutely nothing to enemy mobs, they didn't even need to save against it, they just strode right through it as if it wasn't even there. I cast it multiple times in different spots to confirm, it does *nothing*.

This all started after I took Ring of Shadowblades, which by the way, works as intended, the way Blade Barrier is also supposed to work.

The fifth word of the first sentence answered the first part of that. FvS.
And I have no idea, I swapped spells, I no longer have BB trained.
