This is the spell description for Thunderwave. It sounds like a good contender to replace sonic blast as an SLA
In stormsinger or other comparable tree that offers a similar damage spell sla option. I understand to that spells
May not translated exactly as they appear in dnd handbooks.
I would like to know what people think of adding this one? I wonder how much time and testing it would take.
THUNDERWAVE:
A wave of thunderous force sweeps out from you. Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you must make a constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d8 thunder damage and is pushed 10 feet away from you. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't pushed.
In addition, unsecured objects that are completely within the area of effect are automatically pushed 10 feet away from you by the spell's effect, and the spell emits a thunderous boom audible out to 300 feet.

I have seen this spell work in Baldur's Gate III and Solasta: Crown of the Magister, the computer game.
I think the original nerf to Sound Burst was due to hardcore. If we introduce this new Thunderwave spell and monsters use them in Hardcore, would the same outcry to nerf this new spell comes out? Which makes this request null and void?

Greater Shout in combination with sonic blast and even more add quicken to casting.

Most spells have different version for players and monsters (lower damage, higher cooldown). So why not Thunderwave too? If it is even added to mobs, not all player spells are cast by mobs. (the ED spells for ex. Not sure if mobs even cast Horn of Thunder if you want a heroic example?)

Like Horrid Wilting? The monster have the strong player version, and we have the weak monster version. Talk about a spell that should have been fixed a long time ago.

If it's a pbaoe then it's not really a replacement for sonic blast, because you don't want to have to run up to mobs first - that's just a slightly different shape of shout then

Yep seems for the spell mob and player version are switched.

Indeed. A range AOE spell would be better.

Good thing they worked on sonic blast first. And the reasoning was reapers we’re overturned because of it. So when should we expect the fix that benefits the players with regard to horrid wilting?

I'm unfamiliar with how Horrid Whilting had been changed for players/monsters, could you explain it for me please?

Since the old version of sonic blast was mostly popular for its AoE daze with no save why not put just that on a spell and call it Bigbies Foot: On cast a tremendous foot stamps down on your target, dazing it and each creature in a wide area. Ooze type creatures are splattered with no save instead.

Yeah, a Monty Pyton Epic Foot Stamp is what we're requesting, but what we'll get is:

I'd say it was mostly popular as a ranged circular AOE with decent damage and a short CD, for quicker clears of mob-dense R1 low-level quests while leveling
Its part of an overall trend (not monotonic, but still trending) to reward AOE in quest design, but deny AOE in build design
