So first thing, DDO is my absolute favorite game I have been playing for 10+ years already and have no intention of quitting any time soon. So before anybody just accuses me of dishing on DDO let me assure you this is not the case here.
However I have been noticing a pattern with the game, one that continues to frustrate me as a player who is on a no-farm TR train.
DDO develops new content (I like this), but once released the older areas of the game become extremely glitchy. From Hirelings who are not actually in the party but are listed in the party to people actually becoming lagged out when going through loading screens to new areas and ranged attacks on stationary mobs where the ammo gets used up but nothing hits the mobs.
Then DDO will issue a patch, and the gameplay will get a little better, but never gets quite fixed.
As a player trying to get his past lives, this is extremely frustrating. At times I have been so frustrated at the gameplay performance I have to stop and walk away.
I am not going to sit here and pretend like I understand computer code or how new programming affects the old. But there has to be a better way then having the game "broken" everytime new content is released. I have played many, many games online and I have never seen anything quite like what I experience here in DDO.
Additionally it's hard for me to recommend a game to others that seemingly gets broken everytime when DDO releases new content. It also seems like the lag has gotten far worse now then it was when I first started playing. Again I will state that I love DDO, I want to play DDO......I buy the new contents when they come out. But it's getting harder to justify spending money on a game that is constantly being broken then kinda fixed.
To the DEV's: I and I am sure others would happily donate 20 bucks to have an update that just fixes the lag.......no content.....just fix the game.
