No more epic TR for Epic completentionist

Since U56 it seems to be impossible for EPIC completentionist to undergo an epic TR.

The UI request the selection of an epic past life bonus, but since none is aviable it is lock there.

It's kina sad, because i'd like to play a Scoundrel iconic with the new class variant Stormsinger, but my completion of all the epic past live seems to prevent that, nice reward !

Just do a heroic/racial. Or a Lesser if you're just wanting to change build?

Some niche circumstances would make it preferable to just go back to 20 and not 15 or 1.


Wanting to LR but you do not have a Lesser Heart
Holding level to be able to run certain epic content on reaper, need to LR but an LR forces you to take all your levels so the ER is preferable.

i can correctly do racial or class TR (even if completentionist on both).

But if i want to play an iconic Stormsinger as Scoundrel, my only option is to go 30 and Epic TR to 20 to select the bard variant class.

And as stated above, it look like my reward for geting all epic past life is not being able to do so.

Stormsinger and Bard are two different classes though, so a +20 lesser heart may be needed

Not true. From the release notes: https://www.ddo.com/update-notes/ddo-update-56-release-notes

You may swap into a Archetype during a Lesser Reincarnation. You won't need a +X Heart to swap levels during that Lesser Reincarnation; swapping into a Archetype during a Lesser Reincarnation does not count towards class swap totals and does not require class swaps to perform.

Unless they changed something a +0 is good enough. I have changed a 20 Bard into 20 Stormsinger using a plain Lesser Heart of Wood

I have Epic Completionist on three of my characters, I can ETR them, no problem?

Unless you're talking about the epic past life feat selection and it doesn't let you select one since your character already have them all?

Personally I specifically held back a few EPLs for this express purpose(but namely I never wanted to ETR for no value), but I've now only got 1 left. I have been really hoping to get extra destinies added so I can have a few more options. Hope they get this bug fixed.

This is nonsense. I hope devs have a word on this. Is my very same situation, but I'm not into Archetypes with iconics, so is good to know how this is resolved.

Interesting - I hadn't considered leveling to 30 in a "base" class then using the Epic TR lesser reincarnation to swap over from base to archetype class before heroic TRing in order to get the archetype PL. I do have some Epic PLs left but not a ton... Can anyone confirm you actually can swap from the base class to the archetype during an Epic TR? Specifically I'd much prefer to level up a Pally than a Sacred First.

I think the OP meant to say he has all 3 * 17 = 51 epic past lives, not the Epic Completionist feat which only requires 12 epic past lives.

I did an epic tr on the 25th with no problem. I have epic completionist, however i do not have all of the possible epic past life feats. are you saying you completed and got all the epic past life feats ? if so why would you try to do another ?

Sounds like you need a heroic heart for the new archetypes.

Yes, the OP has every single epic PL and thus cannot ETR.

You are correct, that it would normally seem odd to want to perform an ETR even so - but here the OP is a regular bard and want to use the ETR to remake that as a Stormsinger and then TR right after that getting the Stormsinger past live. Thus a heroic heart in it self does not do what the OP wants but is also needed.

Epic hearts are a cheap way to respec into one of the Archetypes (or any respec for that matter if you don’t mind running 20-30 again), since it only costs heart seeds. Lesser hearts cost DDO Points to purchase from the store.

The heroic heart would only allow the OP to start a new life as an Archetype rather than cash in their current life for the desired archetype past life.

The option to do an epic reincarnation even after having all 51 possible PLs would be a welcome addition. Even if no additional PL benefits are obtained.

Correct ! i realise i should have precised that i did ALL the epics past lives (forgot there was a feat that you can gain multiple time with the name epic completentionist).

An obvious solution is to make the basic (no "plus") lesser reincarnation tomes available outside the store, like they do for heroics, racials, and ETRs. Long overdue, frankly.

Yup this would help a lot. They are very overpriced. For example, someone who messes up their build accidentally has a ~9€ tax on fixing their character. I too think they should be earnable in game, even if expensive (more heart seeds than iconic/epic hearts for ex.)
