The weekend bonus better be worth it.

At least you saw the notice, I was on character selection screen and must have blinked as the only message I got was, "Character booted from this world".

First thing I thought was "Do I need to check my credit card for false transactions?", luckily it was just an emergency shutdown to prevent me from losing stuff from my tr-cache.

this is far better than having someone log in and lose a ton of stuff. FAR FAR BETTER.

The amount of flailing the dev team has done in the past few weeks is incredible. (Ya know, the kind of stuff a QA department would prevent.)

Even so, I would be shocked if they actually offered anything other than a standard weekend bonus.

If somebody back there had a modicum of self-awareness they would run a substantially larger than normal XP bonus in concert with 2 or 3 other bonuses as a "We Effed up - please forgive us" olive branch.

But they seem to lack the awareness to do stuff like this based on a long history of doing it and pretending like it's normal. Which I suppose it basically is at this point.

80 free personal bank slots and 80 free shared bank slots would be a start. They already charged us for the expansions that dumped 100+ bound to character items on us and hundreds more bound to account items. Charging us for the bank space to store them as well seems dirty.

I like this idea. More inventory space and 10 raid items from the entire pool of raid items. Good start. Gonna need to do more though.

I don't disagree as far as the downtime is concerned, but 1 min notice rather than 30 seconds would have been appreciated, esp when you are in the middle of a difficult wave fight on hardcore and not everyone has good way to get out while taking incoming damage.

When I saw the notice my first thought was, "What? Thirty seconds!!! Oh no. Something went horribly wrong with the patch." I was in the middle of a quest and tried to finish out while under fire.

Given the circumstances, I accept the necessity for a fast server shutdown and emergency down time. My best wishes for quick success go out to the developers and technical people working to fix stuff. I hope the people who lost stuff quickly get it back. I hope everyone on Hardcore survived the shutdown.

I also hope management evaluates these recent incidents and takes effective measures to improve update deliveries. Someone in another thread mentioned that this patch dumped all vault tabs back into Main. If so, I will lose another 8+ hours organizing storage for the third time in as many weeks. If your people need more time, please give them more time.
