Let vistani enhancement use kukri.

Kukri is the most un-used weapon in DDO, you can help Kukri by letting vistani can use Kukri, too.

Kukri is also dagger, so, it fits perfectly to its flavor.

You can add light-mace as a blackjack for vistani, too.

It would be nice for each weapon type to have its own situational usefulness.

Are there many shortbow builds making the rounds?

This is one aspect of the game to improve over the years at least.

Fixed.

BTW...a kukri is a slashing weapon, not a piercing weapon.

See the kukri drills at around the 3 minute mark. Not one of those moves is a thrusting move.

"I think, therefore it is!" Anyways, kukri's actually are used way more than you think. Many end game raid tanks use them.

In Bram Stoker's Dracula, Jonathan Harker cuts Dracula's throat with a kukri right before Quincey Morris stabs him in the heart with a bowie knife. Having not read Dracula in many years, I had completely forgotten that!

According to the Wikipedia, the kukri may have descended from the kopis, brought by Macedonian forces into India under Alexander, son of Philip. The kukri and kopis look very similar! One wonders if the Egyptian kopesh evolved into the Macedonian kopis, then evolved again into the Nepalese and Indian kukri.

Rather than make the kukri into a Vistani weapon, I would enjoy seeing the kukri given a unique tree, perhaps based on the fighting techniques of the Nepalese Gurkhas.

Bowie knives would make another fun addition to the game.

Vistani was created to give daggers a role, because before that there was simply no reason to use them (unless maybe you were a Vol KotC for some reason). Much like Inqui did for Crossbows, and KT did for non-Khopesh 1H heavy weapons, they needed help being competitive with other weapon alternatives

If Kukris were added to VKF, they'd completely replace daggers, since their crit profile is innately better (outside of a few expanded-crit named daggers, but not at endgame of course). That would be a sideways move, not an improvement - daggers would just end up back where they were to begin with, which created the need for VKF

I agree kukris are underserved, but they need to have their own niche, not share one with daggers. Maybe an Assassin and/or Ninja tree overhaul could better focus on those weapons, since that feels like a good thematic alignment.

In the sense that it's not a sword.

A kukri is a small machete.

I think this would be a good idea and give a bit more oomph to Vistani. Vistani seems week compared to other Universal trees (Harper, Feydark, Falconry) that give an alternate stat to attack and damage for all weapons plus a trance. Vistani could use an extra bump or two to compensate. Giving some ability for Vistani to get around slash (and perhaps bludgeon) would be helpful.

As to the fear of kukris taking over they could follow the model in the Assassin tree where only Daggers get the threat range increase.

A kukri is a small machete.

That's a pretty good description.

Well that's a hot take
