Kyber shards simply dead weight now?

According to the patch notes, all recipes that used Kyber shards will now use Siberys shards and Kyber shards will no longer drop as treasure.

So... does that mean all the Kyber shards we have are now just dead weight/inventory cloggers? Or will there be a conversion - automatic or manual - in the future to change existing useless Kyber shards into Siberys shards?

It was changed to use a different component called Khyber dragonshard which is vendor bought.

Be careful throwing them out, some redundant items do return to being useful at a later date (e.g. mystical urn). It became useless after update 32 and is now used for crafting sabotaging shards (from update 55).

Trap the Soul's Material Component can be found wherever special material components are sold in-game. This was changed from using the horrible Bound Khyber Dragonshards system (which are not the same thing as the now-deprecated material Khyber Dragonshard Fragments) about a year ago.

yes they created a new shard for them sold by the vendors

So the Stone of Change still combines Khyber shards from (Khyber Dragonshard Fragments to Average Khyber Dragonshards) What are we supposed to do with these now????

I saved them up and did the whole Stone of Change thing on my first character. But since then with all my alts, I just sell them along with all the other junk I get in a dungeon run.

Well if no one wants them, mail them to my toon Crustbucket on Thelanis. I love collecting these gems and to see them go poof with no way of getting the shinnies anymore stinks. Must be a Kobold at heart!
