I came out of R10 Captive of the Hidden God tonight and the following items were gone from my inventory: Eternal Flask of Death Ward; entire stack of about 50 cure serious wounds pots; entire stack of 100 remove disease pots; Sapphire Studded Buckles; Stout Oak Walking Stick with meteoric star ruby and adamantine ritual on it. I know for a fact that I had the DW flask when I entered the quest, as I used it. At least 8 other items are missing as well, still figuring out what. Relogged toon, still gone. Checked the vendor buyback, mail, personal bank, not in any of those. Filed a ticket with support, not that I think anyone reads those anymore. Posting here and to DDO Discord just to give a head's up to others.
The funny thing is, I'd been running raids for hours before this on another toon (same account) with no problems. One difference: the raiding toon barely got hit and never died, while the other got lit up hard and died a few times. Wondering if this means there's some new bug that treats all of your gear (consumables, and both BTA and BTC loot) like a breakable consumable in your backpack or arrows--breaks and it's gone.
I won't be logging back on until I hear someone at SSG acknowledge they're aware of this bug and indicate they've fixed it; no way I'm risking losing more stuff.

My HCL favor runner is also having loot issues. Most chests since u56 have 1 item and gold or plat. That’s it. I would say almost everyone is the same loot table.

just out of curiosity, do you still have a TR Cashe in the banking system. If so, check there. Since the update. People who have a TR Casche are reporting items are returning to the TR Cashe upon login.
This may be what is happening and why they disabled TR at the moment.

There is definitely an issue with BTC items being returned to the TR cache after a log out/in.
I had this on my main, as all my BTC and some none-BTC items were returned to the TR cache examples being collectible bags, Quiver of Alacrity

SSG Support replied to my ticket and asked me to check this as well. The items have not been returned to my cache or banks, and it's now been over 13 hours since they disappeared so I doubt they're going to show up there. The lost items are also not all BTC, but a mix of unbound, BTA, and BTC. They also disappeared while questing (possibly on recalling after completion?), rather than on log in/out, so this appears to be a new and different bug.

They are quite capable of doing this themselves even if you are not on line. I had an instance once where I bought the wrong item from the ddo store and put in a ticket explaining that I may not be on line when a gm came on and they fixed it for me while I was putting up zzzz's. took the wrong stuff from my inventry and replaced it with what I wanted so please do not ever let a gm say you have to be online

Missing inventory items still not reappearing anywhere. No further replies from SSG support, crickets on here and discord from the devs about this issue, which is distinct from items being returned to caches after TRing, or BTC items going invisible when dragging them into a shared bank.

No, it isn't in this case. Please read more carefully from the post you cited:
"...caused some items to go missing or become invisible from characters' banks or reincarnation caches"
The items were in my inventory, not banks or caches, and I had not been interacting with the cache or bank in any way. The items had been withdrawn from my TR cache long before U56.
"There are also some erroneously-created items that may still reside in some characters' inventories related to the in-game mail system improperly sending broken duplicates of some consumables used..."
Again, nothing to do with my issue.
I reported my issue to the "bug-reports" section of DDO Discord, with no response from anyone at SSG. Yesterday I posted a follow-up, asking if I really was the only person seeing this particular bug; if so, I thought it might be useful information to pass along to whoever's handling the ticket I filed. One of the moderators appears to have deleted it without explanation.
If the fix will in fact restore my items, great, but it would be nice for someone, anyone, at SSG to acknowledge that they're aware that the missing item issue is not just from banks and caches. As I posted above, the items don't seem to have been returned to my TR cache, even invisibly--I can see exactly the number of items the cache says are in there.

Maybe not related, but this has never happened to me and I wonder if it has something to do with this issue.
I bought an item from the AH. I went to get the item from the mail and it wouldn't move into my inventory.
I tried a few times. I shut down the mail window and came back, same thing.
So I tried to log out and back in. Now the item isn't in the mail anymore but it isn't in my inventory either.

I lost two hireling contracts that were in my character bank. I've checked TR cache and shared bank also, and they're not there. They just disappeared. One of them disappeared before my very eyes. I saw it in my character bank yesterday, went to move it into my character inventory, and *poof* it just vanished.
I don't know yet if anything else has disappeared. There was a lot of stuff in there. I won't know until I look for something that I know was in there and can't find it. Frankly, I'm a bit uneasy now about the prospect of losing items that I spent a lot of time getting.
This revamp of the character bank has significantly ruined my whole storage system account-wide. I had items arranged in certain orders in the banks of all my mules, so that I could quickly locate them with a visual scan. Now, I either have to scroll through the entire bank list or search for the items that I want. But, I can only search for items that I specifically have in mind. The whole point of my system was to be able to easily locate items without having to memorize every, single item that every, single one of my 20 characters has, because who has that kind of memory? What am I Rain Man over here?
And now look at all of the other problems that resulted from the overhaul. It's very frustrating when computer people tinker and "fix" things that weren't broken to begin with, without thinking through the likely consequences, which seems to happen at least as often as not, if not more so.
If I could have the attention of every programmer in the world for five seconds, I'd give them the following advice:
FIRST AND FOREMOST, THINK VERY HARD ABOUT HOW MANY UNKNOWN UNKNOWNS YOU COULD BE DEALING WITH.

Items still missing after today's update; didn't reappear in inventory, banks, or TR cache. Would be nice if anyone at SSG would acknowledge this issue. I've posted it to the DevTracker link above, no response there either.
At this point, it's less about getting the items back (though that would be very nice for the Eternal Flask of DW, since you can't just go reacquire it at any time and I'm out a ton of mysterious remnants) and more about the fact that I can't really play when my Jibbers Blade, 100 stack of mnemonic pots, or BTC sentient item might be next to go poof.

Just bumping this thread. Did anyone get any of their missing items back after this patch? Did they say that that was part of this most recent patch?

Were your missing items relatively "new", created within last week? It could be collision on IID index with other fixed items (those recent mails with attachments containing dummy items), just a theory.

No, all had been around for quite a while, long before U56. And as posted above, none of them were recently in caches or banks. Not invisible, just straight-up deletions from my inventory while questing.

Bump.
Out of curiosity, did anyone's invisible items reappear after the patch (Update 56.0.2) on Sept. 8? It was one of the main goals of the hotfix, but I'm not seeing much on here about whether it worked.

Still no one at SSG has been able to explain why stuff just disappeared from my inventory, and today Support said they couldn't replace my Eternal Flask because I couldn't remember when I originally acquired the item--like, probably a decade ago. And even though I could provide them the 2 hour window in which it disappeared, they said they still couldn't track it in the item log.
Honestly, who thought that this was a reasonable system? And does it really put SSG out so much that you can't compensate a 13-year customer (and VIP) for *your* error? Ridiculous.
