The DDO game worlds will be unavailable on Wednesday, August 17th from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT) for our weekly maintenance. Additionally, DDO.com and the DDO Store will be unavailable until 2:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT).

Yes, because I work for a living and can't necessarily take time off to load up the game and see if the worlds are up so I can plan my next game break.

And isn't that what this post is for? Updating the status of the game?

Almost always SSG announces when the game worlds are back up. Both on the forums and the launcher. Not doing so today for either LOTRO or DDO is highly unusual so the question was a reasonable one.

My guess is that they didn't make the usual announcement either because of maintenance to portions of SSG systems or because they are preparing to go or have already gone to the developer conference in Germany.

The game worlds opened while the web site was down today. Wayfinder's downtime was extended due to some additional maintenance work performed. All worlds are now open!
