Salvete Omnes! I have been inviting quite a few people to the game lately and it has gotten me thinking about what I need to help them understand before they start. After my head stops hurting, I realize that it's quite a lot. Then I started to wonder what information the game itself actually provides for someone (not like me) who is wise enough to read. In this series I try to read as much of the information as I can and try to make decisions in the game based on what the game has told me. This video is character creation. I chose a premade path for 2 reasons: first, the game implies this is what a new player needs to do and second, I have had 2 friends who were new to the game choose a premade path before I had the chance to stop them. One of them I had sent a build post on the forums to follow.

I want to be very clear that this is not intended to trash the game. I actually found an awful lot more information than I was expecting. I simply want to start a conversation about what gaps exist for new players so we as the community can effectively help them.

Please leave comments here or on YouTube with your experience as a new player or things you think new players need to know.
