View Full Version : Faster Sneaking and/or Shadowdancer Mantle Bug

The increased sneak speed of one or both of the elements in the thread title are working badly.
Two pure rangers - one a wood elf tempest, the second an aasimar bow user - both have 3 ranks in the Deepwood Sniper Faster Sneaking enhancement and the Shadowdancer Mantle.
The aasimar often has no enhanced/insight sneak speed compared to the elf. Occasionally (about 20% of the time) however it all works, especially if I enter sneak whilst running.
Anyone else have this problem?
Can I ask a Dev to look into this or what extra info they may need to check?
Thanks :)

this is a shot in the dark, i don't know if you are aware of it, just trying to be helpful, help in possible troubleshooting\further testing
fast sneak is bugged in general, and has been bugged for a looooong time. years and years.
if you do things like climb a crate or even just jump while sneaking, yeah even simply jump, it bugs the whole thing, the faster sneak speed is deactivated.
to have it back, exit and reenter sneak works (not really an option if you are trying to be sneaky) or, most viable workaround, simply block. just hit the block key for a split second, and your enhanced faster sneak speed is back. does it make sense? zero sense, but that's it. it totally ruins a playstyle already labeled as unsupported.
this is a known extralong-standing bug, and since stealth is an unsupported playstyle i'd expect it will never been addressed.

Thanks for answering Val and no, I didn't know that! It's even stranger when you think that my levelling buddy never has this problem... However that's a great work around - thank you! Even though it's not particulalry supported, I enjoy my metal gear archer...who will now tumble a whole lot more! ;) Really appreciate you taking the time to answer - cheers!

i'm glad it worked for you and sorta-sorted down your issue.
the fact that your buddy never had this problem, i have no idea, i always assumed this bug was general but what if it is related to race\animation? or what if (totally saying random imaginary stuff here) we think only 1 kind of fast sneak exists but there are like 7 sharing names and 5 are bugged? well you can expect that from ddo after all hehehehehe :P
who knows...
