View Full Version : Epic hirelings question

I love DDO but due to real life I play at times where finding a group is difficult sometimes.
Thus I depend quite a bit on a decent EPIC hireling to accompany my char.
This is fine until max level - where no level 30 hirelings are available - (and now there will be a level increase to 32 - making a quest run with a lower level hireling even worse)
1) Do SSG plan to update the Epic hireling choice for all levels (like Heroic)?
2) And even more important WHY NOT if no?? - Do they have some agenda as to why not?
It is the only frustrating thing for me at Epic levels
Thanks for any info or thoughts all of you.
On a side note I would gladly pay cash for a hireling (from level 20) who leveled up at the same rate as my char.

I second this.
The highest level hireling you can get now is level 27, besides gold seal hirelings.
If you have the feywild muse gold seal he can heal you.
I recently did some videos on a druid summoner with hirelings and pets and you can find the videos here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4eSRPnfCYxAyNIMJCU-jPjk3H-axdRJ3

The more hirelings the better. Me and the Mrs run with maximum hirelings, 2 each plus skellie, the arti metal dog, 2 succubi and 5 tharak hounds from our wolf whistles. I want a level 30 FvS that spams fire storm like the level 19 Caraneth hireling. She's awesome but I have to stop using her in the higher levels

If you're willing to dish out some cash, the top tier bundles of various expansions often come with level 30 gold seal hirelings, such as Frogo (https://ddowiki.com/page/Frogo) or Teal (https://ddowiki.com/page/Teal).

About a year ago I asked Darth Severlin why the developers did not introduce more Gold Seal Hires. He stated that they want to avoid introducing too many new hires because, at some point, they want to add hires that level with our characters. This was about a year ago so perhaps I have misremembered the reasoning. I suspect other forces are at work, like selling upgraded Expansions.
For what it is worth, Miss Sundawn received a significant strength upgrade since last I played. Some Equipment, Filigrees, and Epic Enhancements can make Epic hires better still. Acquiring such items is on my To Do List.
