I'm coming back from year plus hiatus. I'm having a problem adding an augment gem to a weapon - both are lvl 4 - I think I use to click on the augment and then drag the weapon to it in order to slot the augment. That is not working. Am I remembering this wrong, has something changed?

Thanks,
Jules

The system was revamped. Open your inventory panel. You'll see 2 slots on right, 1 for augments, 1 for sentient items. Drag the item you to augment to the augment slot. This will pop up new panel with the item's slots; drag your augments on the slot you want it in there.

the augment system was revised in update 48:

From the inventory screen, click the 'Augment Item' button at the lower right of the window, this will display a popup-window of the same name. Drag the unlocked item to be augmented to the empty position on the popup-window, this will display filled and empty augment slots on the item. Drag an appropriate augment onto an empty slot of an appropriate color and it will lock into place, applying the effect of that augment to the item. Close the popup-window when you have finished augmenting the item.

all the augments were updated as well, but if you happen to have an augment previously slotted (from before the update), that augment slot is considered a legacy augment slot -- you will need to use a legacy augment unslotter (they are available for 2cp from crafting vendors) to remove the augment, which will then update the augment slot to the new format.

Also, if you have any old gear augmented via the old system, you'll need to get legacy augment unslotters from a vendor for a couple copper pieces each to remove them from those specific items. https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Legacy_Augment_Unslotter You may have to log-out/back-in after unslotting, but the gear will then update to using the new slotting system afterwards.

Thank you all for the information - that really helped.
