Surely good MMO design is about being able to play with people? Instead we have designer determined to keep the player base apart with arbitrary quest restrictions

I thought you could at least red door all the Ravenloft quests. It doesn't seem as bad as Sharn at any rate.

But, yeah, quest flagging restrictions have been a source of complaints for a while:

Once you have done Into the Mist you can red door every quest in Ravenloft.

You will not get flagged for the Curse of Strahd raid, but you get saga progress, XP and favor. I do not see what the problem is.

To be cynical, people have become lazy with all the flaggings being non-existent in end game raiding ...

well if it makes you feel better, I constantly mix up the two taverns.

Redboxable or not the should just do away with the arbitrary restrictions it would be a boon for grouping

Flagging lockout is certainly worst but smoother quest acquisition and turn in all around would be great

Flagging makes much more sense in a game without a TR system because you only need to flag once

This game has a long history of supposed good game design features that actually inhibit grouping or make game play more difficult. The group xp death penalty is a perfect example of a very bad mechanic that, only after years and years of complaints was the penalty changed to the individual losing 10% xp rather than the entire group. For whatever reason, the devs are extremely tin eared when they are confronted with these unnecessary constrictions on game play and grouping. If flagging is essential aspects of releasing new content, it could be removed after the content has been released for 6 months or a year.....
