What I like most about this build over my squashbuckler (20 Half-Orc Bard wielding EE Skullsmasher) is offhand versatility+Death Aura. It's a lovely combination. Lots of neg healing! Very tanky. I took being able to use an orb while swashbuckling, and took the +20 bonus to sonic spell power, but that second part was a waste. If I find a better place for that 1AP I will move it. Overall, an interesting build with great UMD, and fair Spellcraft and Perform.

If you want something to crit like a machine and drain a billion levels in the process, I recommend this.

15 Wizard, 3 Bard, 2 Fighter
I took Ascendant Shroud for Zombie with Swashbuckling a buckler. The build really worked well as a Shadarkai with the chains. I experimented a bit with the gear and added LRDS armor, Magmatic Grasp, Alchemical buckler with Acid Imbuement and a pair of the alchemical imbuement rings to get more procs for elemental damage.
I had a blast running around with 3KHP as a melee wizard with all those self buffs and avoidance defenses. The best was hearing the neg level sound every time I crit, which happened all the time.

Swashbuckling with an orb and having the feat Offhand Versatility is a REALLY good combo too. The five second crit rule applies to any Death Aura you cast during that time, meaning every tick for the entire duration of Death Aura is a crit, which is AMAZING.

Also, zombie shroud? Isn't the melee kinda slow????

It's only 10% slower and with Single Weapon Fighting, you barely notice. I went with the buckler because I rarely had to bother with self healing and the damage from Death Auras wasn't as significant as the melee and procs.
