Did this just happen recently? Last week I had to do a "repair" because mine got corrupted somehow. I think it was Saturday. Maybe try that?

Same thing here, got stuck at client, then got stuck going to character screen, and then, once again stuck loading a character! I gave up after third one, will try again.

I think the improvements they stated that are in the works?, need more improvements!

Loading screen client crashes are a 16 year old bug.... so I wouldn't expect a fix any time soon.

The issue comes and goes. Any number of things can cause the loading screen issue and the recent spate of them may not be what was seen last month or sixteen years ago.

My own loading screen hasn't crashed yet but I've seen it pause for a while on occasion.

Since last patch (54.0.2) i get stuck in loading every 10mn or so (i guess its more like every 2 or 3 loading screens).
Had to ctrl alt suppr the game to oblivion half a dozen times yesterday (and log on another server, remove temps, log to other toons, sacrifice a chicken...) before i gave up.
Today i had time to do stealthy (so, 4ish minutes) and got stuck when stepping out...

I am so glad i bought the ultimate fan bundles of the last addons, wanting to help you guys and hoping for the game to endure. I dont feel cheated at all!
I like that i should invest my free time after work to pass a degree in computer science in order to be able to play my mmo.

when I have this issue I unplug my router and plug it back in and that seems to clear it up. not sure why or if that even is the fix

Sometimes killing just the "browser helper" will fix the issue. Sometimes not, too.

This bug has been happening since I started playing. It's never been fixed.

It would be nice if the chat window at least would overlay the loading screen. Chat functions as normal during a loading screen hang. You can type to your group. You just can't see what they're typing back.

Issue persists
It used to happen from time to time, but now i cant do more than 2 quests in a row before i get "kicked out" by the loading screen :(
I reinstalled the whole game this week end, no change.
I am beyond annoyed about this...

Beginning of 2022 I added more RAM to my PC, not really for DDO but just because I like having a ton of RAM to run everything from RAM-drives. Now sitting comfortably on 64 gigs.

Ever since the upgrade I have not experienced one single crash, freeze or "stuck on loading screen" anymore, even when multiboxing. Before: going from wilderness to wilderness was an open invitation to get stuck somewhere.

There has been a long-standing rumour going around that there is some sort of memory leak in the DDO code, with memory not being properly released after entering and leaving an instance. My own experience confirms this is true, yours may vary.

Same and got worse after update 51. Also in Thelanis when this happens we stay from 5-20 minutes without chat.
