What am I doing wrong with the "Trap the Soul" spell?

I have in my inventory, not in a bag, the Khyber Dragonshard (KD) fragments, Tiny KDs (combined from fragments), Tiny KDs purchased, Small KDs (combined from tiny), and Average KDs (combined from small).

I attempt to cast the spell. I get a list of which version 10HD, 20HD, or 30HD I wish to cast? I have attempted each. I get the exact same message every time.

I have raised my Khyber Dragonshards to as big as possible at the "Stone of Change".
I look on the ddowiki and the only information it gives is that they are used for the "Trap the Soul" spell and then provides the "Stone of Change" Khyber Dragonshard combination information.

Is there a new version of the spell or has the spell been changed (I know there was a change with Update 50) to where we now can only cast the spell using "Omnispell Stones". If there is a component other than KDs please tell me where to get them or how to make them. If they are no longer used, it would really be nice if Omnispell stones become a drop at least as common as +5 Thieves Tools. I am sure they will rapidly climb to EACH costing 10,000pp to 1,000,000pp on the Auction House or possibly will cost 10's of Astral Shards in the Shard Exchange.

I have screen captures of my inventory when casting and when I get the error message but unfortunately I cannot determine how to add the image. I have tried using the option for attachments and it cannot find the files on my drive and when I dragged the images it had no way to save the information. I had to "x" out of the window.

I think they changed the ingredient some time ago.

As of Update 50 requires a standalone special component called a Khyber Dragonshard that is found in shops wherever high quality spell components may be found. This component works for all variations of Trap the Soul.

No more crafting, check some shops for the complete thing.

I have shopped in the Portable Hole and the vendor in the Tower of the Twelve. They both sell tiny Khyber Dragonshards. I have them in my inventory when I attempt to cast. I still get the error.

If you have "tiny khyber dragonshards" in your inventory it is still the wrong type.

The right type is just "Khyber dragonshard".

Ignore the Tiny KS. You're after a component called Khyber Dragonshard (no qualifier). General Vender at the Potable hole, in-between Hearts of Hens and Level 1 Spell inscription mats

The ingredient for the spell has changed to one that can be purchased from venders. you no longer need the variations created from the stone of change . sell them to the same vender they are worthless.

You could play a soul eater warlock and spam the spell non-stop. Add a rune arm from Fey - the ghost buster thingy that occasionally turns monsters into soul stones and you will be banking them soul stones faster than any wizard that has to go through the outdated painful process of dealing with dragonshards and alters to convert them and all that grindy boring stuff.

(Oh wait, The Trap the Soul ability is level 20 isn't it? This means you can't take 2 levels of artificer for the rune arm to get the ghost buster rune arm - so you could either go wizard arti and pop souls (getting them at random from time to time) along with the outdated and apparently busted ingredients needed to cast the spell, or you could play a warlock Soul Eater devoted to best possible Trap the Soul DC and go about gathering and hunting up them souls. Personally, I find the Soul Eater to be the best method for gathering souls, but I still never used any of the ones I gathered. Maybe I will now that having slaying weapons is a big plus for running R10 and using different weapons for different quests to make sure you are breaking DR as much as possible)
