Sounds like you get to play for fun now, instead of just grinding out "progression"
If all you want is a skinner box, there are plenty of gotcha games made for exactly that.

Did you get max M / R bonuses on all loot possible?
Did you create a gear set combination that's specifically tailored to certain raids like thth or the new hunt raid?
Did you establish & perfect certain ED / Enhancement builds specific to certain raids to counter them?
Do you have maximum absorption gear sets for specific types of damage, each unique spell absorption item, each useful (think LGS) clicky?
Do you have multiple weapons to swap between bosses and non-bosses?

still room to min/maxing on ur first 3 ideas but not many ppl run high reaper raid around here, r10 quests and r1 raids are easy enough without switching gear and build. also i dont need anything from the raids to run them on high r anymore to begin with.

Start running pug raids just to assist others. Be noob friendly and carry the whole raid if necessary.
Start a PVP fight club.
Meh. That's all I've got. I'd be bored too. It's one of the reasons I never tried to get all of that. Well, when the cap is raised you'll have some stuff to do for a little while. Try and pace yourself.
I have many characters at various levels of progression, none of which are even CLOSE to done.
And I've just started this new toon, gave him his first past life, and ready to run again.
I like the progression. If progression stops for one character, or I park one to wait to help friends tag along, I just build a new one!

Some fun niche things to collect that help with versatility:
Epic top hat & Epic Roderics Wand
Bluefire Necklace & Cloak of ice
Ring of the Ancestors, Stave of the Seer, and Mask of Ghola Fan
Cr20 LGS summon clickies, and a pos energy LGS wep to swap to for instant 1k temp hp
Repulsor Boots
Legendary Sirrocco(sp?)
Spell absorb Ioun stone & Xachosian Eardweller
Panacea clicky (Heroic GS, or Lorikks Champion)
As an aside, since you're on your final life you might consider cleaning up all your favor. Each favor level now gives feats including hp boosties, nothing to bauk at.

There's still some structured gameplay you can chase. Farm sentient xp and other loot to sell on the ASAH and get into trading meta game. Farm reaper items to crunch. Max out your MM. Drop back to 1 and farm favor for store points so you can buy whatever comes out next. Try to speed run/PB your favorite quests
But ultimately you answered your own question...
found the build i like for end game
If you like your build, then just play it. If you don't enjoy killing stuff just for its own sake sometimes, just playing your build for pure fun and even without rewards, then why are you so invested in it?

Boy you completionist types don't make it easy on me lol!
Hmm.
The cloak of regrowth from the Titan raid is the fastest clicky regen. Second is the slower burn longer lasting jerky clicky from sands. Both get double strength if you equip a maximized wand, the fire/sonic/ice epic wands, whilst casting. I imagine you have high hamp so the regen would probably be pretty noticeable on you. These two only don't stack with music regen as far as I recall.
I also like having bonesplitter and limbchopper weapons on hand incase you get a non-boss you can't kill fast enough (massive perma debuff) or wanna kite (Like end phase LShroud). Plus they're fun in tavern lmao.
Then you might consider unique debuffs nobody gets. Such as weaken construct from Blasting Chime, I adore it for LShroud portals.
Also if concentration doesn't matter to you you might consider getting the epic quiver of alacrity(?) for insightful sneak damage maybe it will open up a slot.
There's also very special stacking effect potions you can collect & burn during a hard raid/quest, like Rising Fury.

The OP's problem is probably the crux of the issue with DDO at this point. There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of players who have tried out DDO and played for a bit, sometimes quite a long bit, and then left because the grind in front of them was too harsh to fathom. Then there are players who have ground out every thing they could from the system and constantly looked for more grinds to keep them motivated.
Trapped between these two groups are the average player, grinding when they play but not ever really gaining on the system.
I've come and gone over the last 12 years on a regular basis, taking as long as a year off in the process and playing for as long as 2 consecutive years. In that time I have managed about 25 lives on my main and another 30 on alts. Most of the alt lives were before 2016 although I have restarted the alt process on alt accounts over the last couple of years.
I bounced in again to resume the grind a couple of months ago and I already find myself losing interest. This is the shortest period it has taken me to lose interest and I suspect it means this is my last go-round.
The problem this time is that I find myself unwilling to login to grind the low heroics on my latest lives. I'm just not interested in running content that I have run over and over again since 2009. It's not a good bang for my entertainment time nor dollars.
The thing most likely to bring the OP back to DDO is another grind. That is also the thing most likely to confirm me as out for good.
That's the DDO Conundrum.

Philosophies on the purpose of gaming aside...
DDO lacks a meaningful endgame.
R10s are easier than R6 was a year ago.
The existing raid assortment has been mostly played out. One raid release per year is not nearly enough to keep this going long term.
The inevitable level cap increased is only going to exacerbate these problems.
Is Isle of dread gear going to make everything currently available obsolete? Are we getting R11+ soon? Are we getting an influx of 5+ new raids to accommodate the level cap increase? Is the goal of SSG to make the 30-cap era die off like the 20-cap era did when MOTU was released?

I am confused. If you like the game, then that is kind of one of the purpose of alts. Start all over and re-live the challenge. Don’t see the point of this post tbh. Many people are in your same position and start seeking r10 raids, solo completions, etc. What is the point of grinding out a character to have most of the power and not use it?

My suggestion is: try to make a really weird and odd build that does strange things. For me it was a melee monk 2/wizard 18 pale master with no EK points spent at all. This was a long time ago when you could switch through all the forms. My other strange build is Wolfiana the Wonder Wolf, a 2/18 druid warlock that blasted cold from wolf form.
My suggestion? Do what I always wanted to do. Make a build that doesn't do hardly ANY damage, but it buffs hirelings so much that they kill EVERYTHING. My recent build kinda halfway went there and my Shield Guardian had 4500 hp lol

If the point of goals is to reach a point where you can do something you couldn't do before (ie progression), then the ultimate purpose is to do that something, so go do it now :)
If its a "journey not the destination" thing where the actual chasing of the goal is ultimately the purpose...then it doesnt really matter what the goal is, so you dont need the game to create new ones for you. Make your own goals and then chase them...true endgame is always a meta-game, by definition

If you feel that you've reached your limit in the game, then I suggest another game. Elden ring is out(reviews are a mixed bag) so enter @ your own risk. Eso has opportunities. Neverwinter has some room(for improvement I mean). Let's not forget about DDO's sister in law LOTRO which is fairly fun and can offer plenty of opportunity to fill the stomach of any fan of high fantasy mmorpgs. There is also taking a break from ddo and getting rigged with tabletop D&D. Just remember nothing can replace ddo or D&D in general, but sometimes we need a breath of fresh air so to speak and I have found enjoyment with all those games save for ED as I haven't played it yet, but IT WAS JUST RELEASED SOOO...!

Never go full completionist.
Chacka_DDO
03-08-2022, 06:31 PM
I'm also more or less "done" with Chacka but the question is if there is any need to act for SSG just only because a few players like me have every past life and enough reaper APs for the soft cap (156).
If SSG adds even more "grind" this can be discouraging for a lot more players who do have not that much time and who are not willing or able to pay to "win" for Otto's Boxes and exp potions.
I would strongly recommend account based progression even if this would mean that I'm currently "done" on my whole account with character progression foremost because I strongly believe that this would be very motivating for the majority of DDO players and I would have the option to start not new characters to continue to try out new builds.
To give players more fun to do regarding characters and TR I would recommend SSG to introduce new races and classes a bit more frequently and the players (like me) should try to rather enjoy each new class with their so-called "main" and not rush through a new race or class ASAP within a few days.
And to prevent discouraging players who don't have that much time and/or money they want to invest in DDO it is maybe better if you don't need every last past life for the completionist feats (and maybe name them different)

Complaining that this game doesn't have enough incremental character power increases to chase would be like going to the Sahara desert and complaining that it doesn't have as much sand as you were hoping for.
I mean, yeah I get it. When you put the kind of absurd grinds in a game that this one has, you will get some players that are actually hardcore enough to get through it. And those types absolutely will complain about there not being enough stuff to grind out, no matter how much of it there is. But catering too much to that 1% of the player base is a sure way to create a game that the other 99% of players don't find to be remotely fun.

Nearly every MMORPG can have this same problem, you hit max level, get all the raid gear, and bam you're done...at least until the next expansion comes out. Be thankful that DDO pushed you for as long and as hard as it did.
On the plus side we get kitties, a level bump, new dungeons/raid(s?) and a new hardcore season soon enough, so more past lives and gear and grinding to go do. In the meantime take a breather and if you simply must play maybe make an alt and do something different.

Also in same situation as you are with a maxed character and gear bla bla.
At present having tons of fun in lost ark which is my main mmo game now, and playing elden ring new horizon west game, few games on switch, learning for 2 certs and thinking to apply to another college in my free time.
I do not underestimate when i say that i have over 20 000 hours in ddo (prolly more around 30 000 with the decade of playtime) and i feel no emotions when ddo is in its stale time to just not log.

i cant even solo 80% of the non raid quests on 10 without dying over and over, so still a lot of challenges left but there r no rewards. im not just asking for another tr or 5 more reaper trees, i be happy to grind for some cosmetics or some unique just for fun items, maybe more share bank space idk, a pet....just more something

got all the past lives/reaper points.
got all the raid gears.
got all the rare filigree.
got all the cosmetic items i want and a bunch that i dont care for.
found the build i like for end game, pushed to the end of my ability with lil/no room to improve.
dont want or need for an alt.
i guess can grind for reaper hat but thats not enough to keep me playing. obviously, i still like the game but im totally totally out of things to work on. so im out. see u guys on isle of dread.
Same here. Currently alternating between New world and Lost Ark. Elden ring is a pile of ****. BG3 is ultra-sleep mode.
Isle of dread is basically selling us back power in EDs, feats and item ilevel increase as per Lynnabel. But at least servers will be okay for a few weeks. We are getting server merge/cross-server LFMs soon yeah?

Both Pathfinder games scratch that Crunchy D&D itch, and Kingmaker has an endless dungeon mode that's great for testing out builds.
