Just bringing up a certain issue, not asking for anything. melees aren't welcome in raids anymore even on lower difficulties like R1. i've seen many groups like 9 casters, 1 tank, 2 melees reform to exclude melees. Problem?

There isn't a single raid on R1 where melees are a liability.

I had an invite out of the blue to try the new raid.
There is no room to mistake that my main was a melee- 1/19 Rgr/Barbarian with 10 epic levels. Obviously not an inqui build.
We had 7 melees in the raid of 12- all brought in by invite.
Perhaps this is only because it's Orien and that's almost all the level 30s online at the time.
However, hitting with everything I had (Feywinter set, a sentient Echo of Blackrazor) and some of those enemies shrugged off my hits without a problem. Casters could take them out with a few well placed hits. Might have been one caster, might have been a team effort (Go team!).
I know how hard it is to get a caster up to snuff to do that kind of damage; PLs, gearing, alchemical pots, etc, and I have no problem with where casters are- I'm not a sour grapes personality.
I could be doing melee wrong, but I can solo many quests on R3-4 (yes, I'm running over level in most but hey, I can do it, finally.) So how are nearly all raid mobs able to shrug off the punishment, despite being sundered and knocked down? (Which landed successfully most of the time)
I felt welcomed in the Raid group, but I don't feel I pulled my weight. I think melees need to be able to hit harder in Raids- or am I missing that secret sauce?
