been bug reported for literally years - still on "known issues" list

It's because ranged don't use IPS after nerf. ;)

code to return the dagger is set to on hit: return?
so it doesn't pass though any objects it Returns on hit before that.
IPS is too costly to warrant its benefit of -20% damage.

I never understood this bug. Just copy a weapon that works. Change it's stats to match and rename it Return to sender. Weapon model that's busted? Change it! Again, copy a working one and say, sorry, we will revisit when we can return (heh) the return to sender original model.

Although not a direct response to the OP, consider instead an Estar ML16 thrower. It will have a spellplague effect which adds effects and will result in a better damaging weapon.

There is sth wrong with the projectile animation.

Return to sender is the only (as I know) projectile that rotates during flight (and it rotates in 2 axis). I guess they had to rotate whole model including hitboxes / collision detect surfaces or so. And that prolly messes up with IPS.

Equipping glamored (cosmetic) weapon with different throwing dagger (or any other throwing weapon) won't fix this because glamored weapons affects only how the weapon looks in your hand, not the projectile itself (you will still see letters flying even if you equip glamered shuriken).

You'd better switch to sth else.

PS. I don't think this bug could be ignored on purpose due to paralyzing throwing dagger being bit OP for some vistani alchemist builds.
