View Full Version : Flagging for quests, remove it today, best choice ever

In a game already so segmented with level differences, unlike other MMOs where majority players are at the top.
It feels like DDO creates way more artificial divides that even WOW has removed such as flagging for a ton of things.

For example I tried to party today with people but eh of course can't. Weekends are the time when you see 10-20 groups on compared to the deader week days. And YOU CAN'T EVEN PLAY WITH PEOPLE.

From flagging for von... guys already hard enough to find players for raids on dead-er servers to quests like the jorasco night over storm reach to sharn.

Who does it benefit, to separate the quests into flaggigng options that u can't red door, if there is question completion I kind of (not really) understand it, but come on.
Remove all those annoying flagging and separating LET PEOPLE PLAY TOGETHER, the game is not massively populated either , let people play.
I literally can't group or play with friends for so many reasons as is, remove flagging and make everyone's lives happier, let people enjoy the game and maybe even keep and create new players.

Over the past year I've had 12 people try the game 3-5 have stayed and we can't even play together... so frustrating

Agreed. Also

- Allow all the Sharn quests to be red-boxed
- Allow teleporting to every quest entrance that is buried in a wilderness area somewhere (when was the last time you ran Belly of the Beast?)

QUESTS are the meat of this game and what differentiates it from other games - let us run them!

Just an anti grouping mechanism

For "In the Belly of the Beast", there is a portal at the Ruins of Riz Malag explorer point. Once this has been found, it's available as an entrance point to the Underdark from the Eveningstar Cavern. This portal is very close to the quest entrance for this quest. Just follow the right hand path upwards to the Secret Caverns. ;)

So it's already present... for this quest... 8)

who does it benefit? people that want to play the game. when there is a quest chain leading up to another quest or a raid, it is a story to go through for the game. you build up to something and then do that thing. it is progress and a big part in a game.

by your logic, the game should just have everyone start at max level with all gear and past lives.. since having to go through the game to level up and build power puts people at different stages in the overall game that just that just makes it harder to o group with people to do the things they want to do, so we should just remove all of that so everyone can always play together, right? ... I hope you see the problem there as that would mean there is no game and no one would be playing it

Who's bot account are you for real? I just saw your profile and your profile went and posted onto everyone's posts even from 2009 about flagging. Is SSG being cringe as **** and posting onto other people's posts making it look like there is no desire to remove flagging? or some fake opposition ewww gross

Wow your argument is so amazingly poor. We know who isn't a lawyer lol or even thinking when they write things.
1.Do you think people who don't care about flagging don't care about playing the game? We want to play with our friends not do 1-2 hours of solo quests before we can do something with our friends or catching up, to something that has nor perceivable value
2. This is a game where people repeat things for dozens and dozens of lives I have 12 lives already, I think I care enough about the game and playing it I just want to play it my way and with my friends. If the game wants to play itself, I am happy to leave and go play lostark where at least I can play with my mates. I think at some point I've read the story and if I haven't I don't care about it and want to play with my friends.
3. I've progressed over characters for about 10 years or so, thanks for telling me that I need to build up to something as if I dont know what I am building up to

It should be a flag one and done on the character. This is a dumb mechanic imo regardless of tring in any form.

what the hell are you talking about?
if you are a lawyer you appear to be a very bad one.

you are literally advocating for the removal of storyline progression and saying people should be able to jump right to the end. if you were asking for people to be able to enter raids when they don't have the quest to do so, that would be one thing, but asking to remove the need to lead up to the raid is bad.. if they added the option that anyone in the raid could enter and not get loot even if they wernt on the quest to be able to help people out, there probably wouldn't be anyone that objects. asking to let everyone just skip to the end isn't reasonable

Ad hominem personam, bro, ad hominem personam... ;)

No, here only you have bad and invalid arguments. If you wanna storyline progression - you absolutely free do it with full removing any flagging, because it's only your decision. But forcing do such "progression" any player after 100500 TR just very silly and unacceptable.

Have more valid argument, without ad hominem personam? 8)

Get real.

How many times do you need to repeat a storyline? How many people you see with wings beside their name nowadays?

Do once and perma-flagged for all content is appropriate. Nobody wants to see the spinner of shadow sequence 130 something times over the course of TRs. Nobody wants to collect an orb, scroll and bowl and do the tedious ADQ1 quest just flag for ADQ2. And nobody wants to do the Meridian quests to do Shroud. Oh and don’t forget Abbot.
