View Full Version : Please change reaper first time bonus in the same way you changed bravery

Currently, people who can already do higher reaper are unlikely to join lower reaper groups (level up, saga, item farming etc.) before they have gotten their high reaper first time xp bonus in that life. Otherwise they'd be throwing away rXP.
This is very bad for grouping.
Please change it so that you can get the remaining first time rxp for higher skulls later. In the same way you don't lose anything in bravery when you run normal or hard first for some reason.

I like this idea, encourages people to push and see how high they can go in reaper rather than playing a high reaper level they reckon they can just about slog through having a **** time for the reaper xp.

While in favor for such a change I'm not sure how it would pad out, don't these bonuses stack?

I'm not sure about the math, if it is multiplicative it is difficult to implement (and another solution should be looked into), but if it is additive to the other bonuses like daily:
The game would calculate maximum first time bonus for R10 for a particular quest.
If you do R1 for example, the R1 first time bonus amount is deducted from the maximum and you can get the rest if you do R10 later, or part of the rest with R2-9

It isn't just RXp they lose by doing dungeons leveling they would repeat at cap for RXp. They also lose favor. You would have to rework the favor system as well.

Not if you do more than 1 epic life.
Is maxing favor really that important to a lot of people, on live? If you already have better than +5 tomes so 5000 favor doesn't matter and the DP per 100 is rather low as well.
A lot of quests I skip because they are annoying or not good xp (and no useful loot either) and I still get enough favor to get a good DP boost every life.

Isn't any reaper difficulty calculated as completing it on Elite for favor?
Is't not like you can do a normal reaper 6, A hard reaper 3 or a elite reaper 1, those options just don't exist.

He's talking about how some people prefer to do all 20-29 quests first to maximize their favor, so they wouldn't join a R1 Ravenloft at lvl 26, for example.
I think it's mostly an issue for 15-30 lives, if you only go 20-30 once. If you go 20-30 multiple times you can do all the epic quests and still join some legendaries underlevel when there's a LFM, without losing any favor. And 1-30 lifes get a lot of favor done before 20, so could probably skip epic stuff like catacombs, deleras etc. without losing favor

There is no point in leveling faster in a PUG running quests you will repeat at cap, because if you can do high reaper you already have all the gear, past lives, and reaper points you need.
Favor is the only in-game reward such a player gets from doing dungeons.

Just make it a flat 95% reaper bonus every time you play in reaper mode instead of just the first time. Its 5 years old and most of the players are already sitting at 200+ rp begging for new rewards. Let the player base catch up.

Tilomere did you assume everyone is like you and has all PL and RP already? I know several players that are not finished with PL and RP and do well in R8+ already.
Personally I can do mid to high reaper as healer (not well but I'm not useless either), but I'm EXTREMELY FAR from finished with PL, RP, gear , etc. So first time bonus makes joining groups below R6 less enticing, until I have got my first time bonus. No matter whether I'm currently <30 or lvl 30, on first epic life, second or third.

Good idea yep - let people catch up. Or first time bonus for EACH reaper skull.
Most players are at 200 RP? Where did you hear that? I still see lots of players with their HP not going up that much when entering reaper.
Or did you mean most ofthe super hardcore players?

It sounds good but the game would be better with less complications like bravery bonus. Bravery was a poorly implemented idea that should have been completely removed when the mechanic was yanked (IMO of course). It doesn't really do much different than First Time Bonus. Does anyone think the BB mechanic is great or is it just that we all like the moar XP!
So get rid of BB, rebalance XP as needed to account for the loss of BB. Don't add more convolutions to a bad design.

Yep, also a good idea, remove bravery and add that to first time bonus. So, for example, Reaper +195% first time.

The entire point of even having first time bonuses is to encourage people to run different quests rather than repeat the "best" ones ad nauseam. With people TRing every 3 days just to bypass this mechanic, IMO it would be better to just replace the first time/bravery bonus with an equivalent weekly bonus to encourage more grouping.

Yep, MonkeyArcher, the game should reward group play more. Weekly is too little I think maybe daily?
And in a game with low population you shouldn't have a situation, where there are 4 different LFM with 1 person each in it, because they don't want to merge as everybody has different bravery/first time quests open.
I think it should be more like: Join any group that's about your level range, doing quests roughly in your level range, and get good xp!

A weekly bonus of 200% on each quest would seem most excellent - similarly to the current daily bonus.
The issue though is that again it would discourage grouping as players would be on "timer" for different quests.
There does not seem to be any way to both discourage running the same few quests over and over (the best xp ones) while making grouping easy. ยจ
Still, I think the weekly bonus would be a the compromise. Certainly better than what we have now.
