I like these events that insert champions into quests. Bring it on Scourge of the Snowpeaks!

What's the reasoning for removing map pieces? Too much extra grinding beyond the compasses, or ... ?

The primary reason is that the system for turning them in and keeping a running tally was identified as a potential server performance issue. Additionally, it timeboxes progression in the event in a way we don't do in other modern DDO events. We'd tried other methods of easing the global turn-in system back in Mabar (before it was replaced with the Night Revels), but none of those were ultimately effective, so here we decided to remove the turn-in system outright.

Is this the update that will bring Saltmarch to the DDO store for DDO points? If not then when, please?

Any chance you lot can stagger the downtimes of DDO and LotRO so that at least one of them is playable at any given time?

From the U52.1 release notes (https://www.ddo.com/en/update-521-release-notes): “…we’re debuting a new challenge aimed at putting your jumping skills to the test…”
The release notes reference the Snowpeaks Festival guide (https://www.ddo.com/en/news/snowpeaks-festival-guide). Unless I’m missing something, the “new challenge” looks suspiciously like last year’s challenge.

I mean the guide is only from last years festival. It’s a full year ahead of the Chronicle question “What are your 2020 DDO goals?”
You can either see the new jumpy challenge in an hour or two, or wait until 2023’s Snowpeaks Festival Guide!

Turning in map pieces accounted for getting a large amount of doubloons, especially copper. What's going to replace turning in map pieces to get doubloons or are we just going to have to rely on converting Gems to get the thousands of copper doubloons needed?

We don't have an answer to that question right now, but we will have an answer to that question before Crystal Cove next runs.

I just checked again on my inquisitor dwarf. His footprints are still broken and will only show one or two footprints after jumping.

What do you mean by “Inquisitor footprints”? Inquisitor is neither a class, nor race. As a universal enhancement tree, it can literally be a part of any conceivable build/race/class combination.

We are talking about the bloody footprints favor reward on hardcore. The footprints don't appear while using dual crossbows for inquisitors.

Artificer and Druid pets will no longer go brain-dead after climbing a ladder.
Artificer pets will no longer go brain dead occasionally upon resurrection.

They work on my aasimar inquisitive 18 rogue/2 arti build and I'm using dual crossbows. There's something more about your build that is likely causing it.

Impale now functions more reliably with repeating crossbows.
What's Impale? Is this possibly Shadowstrike (ranged)?

How do we get the event items, then ? Via Doubloons ?
