Cant log in - is my account safe?

Cannot log in and says my password is wrong. What is happening? Is my account and CC details safe? Why is it all tied to a single sign-on?!

To clear up some confusion, there was a connection issue between the games and the authentication system, so the error message it would throw was about invalid credentials rather than something like "connection error". You don't need to update your account (other than usual internet best practice of periodically changing your passwords). Also if you happened to have left your game client open trying to login without ever having closed the launcher, you'd still keep seeing that error after we fixed the issue, so you definitely needed to close and reopen the game launcher.
