Heroic XP stone and holding levels

Say I wanted to farm some level 10 gear.

If I pop the stone at level 1, level up to 10 and then do the quests I need, will I get the quest xp or does the stone negate any xp earned until you use all of it?

I have not tried this in particular

based on my experience with how XP is gained by an Iconic holding levels running with friends who are doing heroic

will not gain xp from the quests

You do not get quest heroic xp if you are maxed out at the level above your current level - with or without a box.

You will get reaper xp and whatever heroic xp you get from monster manuals. As far as I know the only xp you can get that accumulates when you are maxed out 1 level above your current level (at or beyond the max xp for 11 when you are at 10) is monster manual and saga xp.
