Epic first time bonus reset

With the importance you have placed on epic past lives and how they add destiny points you need to seriously consider first time quest xp resets for Epic Reincarnations.

It does not even have to be every life, you could do it every 3 lives, i.e. every Fate Point earned.

But something would be nice on this front if you are going to directly tie epic destiny increases to past lives.

I am not sure whether I like the idea or not, but I would probably buy a reset if it was reasonably priced. It's not super hard to itr and start at 15.

The same thought occurred to me earlier too...the new ED system shifts too much weight onto the ETR loop, but the lack of reset without dropping back into Heroic is a hassle. Also, FTBs for Reaper at L30 are so effective that it creates a bad-incentive situation where you're rewarded for saving your Legendary FTBs till 30 and forced to grind your way up in lower quests.

My suggestion for both would be to make a special Heart that you can use at L30, available for 42 Seeds like the others, to reset your FTBs and Slayers without actually reincarnating your character or losing any levels. 3 day timer same as other Hearts. That way you could reset before doing a full ETR, or you can stay at 30 longer without losing optimal XP gain

The same thought occurred to me earlier too...the new ED system shifts too much weight onto the ETR loop, but the lack of reset without dropping back into Heroic is a hassle. Also, FTBs for Reaper at L30 are so effective that it creates a bad-incentive situation where you're rewarded for saving your Legendary FTBs till 30 and forced to grind your way up in lower quests.

My suggestion for both would be to make a special Heart that you can use at L30, available for 42 Seeds like the others, to reset your FTBs and Slayers without actually reincarnating your character or losing any levels. 3 day timer same as other Hearts. That way you could reset before doing a full ETR, or you can stay at 30 longer without losing optimal XP gain



Sounds like a really good way to sit at 30 and farm R10 for reaper points and gear

Should just be a straight inclusion as part of an ETR as it is with any other full TR. Not something you can buy whilst still sitting at cap as that's too easy (and I say that as someone who sits at cap).

There's power to be gained off class and racial past lives too. There's 45 class lives and 39 racial to do for 84 total. If you assume one also gets class lives off iconic lives (24 of them) that 84-24 for 60 past lives earned that can be paired with ETRs too. But there's only 51 epic past lives which is 9 less than the heroic lives one could grind out. So as long as one double taps back to 1 each time, you'll still have more heroic leveling to do than epic leveling to get all the past lives.

So the question is, do you dislike heroic leveling to pair with ETRs? Want the power gain of ETRs faster? Finished you class/racial lives off and just have ETRs to do? Something else?

Personally I really dislike all the prep for a HTR and the hassle with the TR cache.

And while I love, obviously, getting new favor and DP; losing all your quest and raid flags and your teleport unlocks sucks.

Additionally I don't like mid heroic leveling that much, not enough groups at my playtime and many quests are not fun or much better in a group like Sands and the Necros.

ETR isnt a full TR. Technically its just ER, to be accurate. Its a glorified LR0...you redo your feats and skills, but you dont change classes or anything that a TR does

And I'd actually love it if ERing didnt remove your levels either, just traded 8M XP for an EPL. But that's not going to happen now that the new ED system is designed to scale you up from 20-30

While that is a mitigation for some, no one should get railroaded into what life they focus on next. If someone decides, "I want to get these EPLs done and over," or if they have already completed all the racials, heroics and Iconics they want for the character because that was their build plan, the solution to run an ITR/RTR/HTR isn't a feasible work-around. (they may simply be training up a guild support alt for tanking, healing, buffing.)
Life-to-life, ETRs should have the full XP potential of any other type of life.

I don't think Favor should be reset; Favor is great for DDO points, but it's not a resource specific to establishing another Past Life, and Iconic PLs would merit the same treatment.

Doing ETRs again and grinding through the epic levels whilst thinking about not-enough-ED-points and all those new EPLs is preparing the mind to buy a bunch of epic Otto boxes. This is the design. Making the game good with OP suggestion would be counter to that obvious design goal.

It would be nice to be able to progress reaper points without having to:



Deal with the TR cache
Reflag raids and quests
Run the same quests for the 100+ time
Worry if this will be the time you lose tomes for a month or more
Be unable to play with your friends for any number of reasons related to being a different level



It would also be nice to keep your main fully available for raids and high level content.


I realize it's not hard to re-level. I really don't enjoy re-leveling and would like to have fun while also progressing a character.

Some people enjoy the leveling process and the current system works great for them.

Those like myself would like a different option that is still compatible with making sure the game retains a steady revenue stream.
