Need some augment help, please

Returning player from a long (since Ravenloft was new) break here. I know there’s been some changes to augment systems, and thought I was doing things the (current) right way as I’ve done some unslotting & reslotting of augments. However on one item - a Ring of Power - I seem to be stuck. It currently has an old Master’s Gift aug in it’s Blue slot, and I’d like to replace that with a Wisdom aug. The problem is I’m getting the “Item not augmentable as it has no augment slots” msg. Well, that’s obviously false. I’ve tried both clicking the Augment Item button and then dragging the ring to the little red box in the Augment Item window (that’s how I’ve done everything else since returning), and dragging the ring to the Augment Item button directly (after reading some other folks similar complaints & resolutions). In the 2nd case, the Augment Item window opens while giving the error. Not sure if maybe the ring is borked, or I am… I have tried the ol’ log out/log in and that didn’t help either. Thought I’d ask here before throwing points at the Legacy Augment Unslotter, as none of my other gear/augments have given this issue.

Two ways to unslot an augment. First the Legacy augments, purchasable at any general vendor, that work with items that were slotted with augment pre update ?? and Jewelers tool kits, should work as well. If the Legacy augment doesn't work, and the jewelers tool kit doesn't work, then you probably have a bugged item, and I doubt you will find a resolution. I can't remember if you can slot an augment on top of an old one, destroying it in the process, or if thats with filigrees.

Go to House C Crafting (Or House K), and go to the retailer there. They should sell "Legacy" Augment Unslotters for around 2 Copper. These will remove the Augments from older items.

the legacy unslotter is what you will need i believe, and can be bought for plat at vendors.

old slot--->you need legacy augment unslotter. you buy it at general vendor, like, in market, for a couple of gold. don't fall for scams at the auction. you double click it, an interface opens, you drag and drop the item into it. log off and log in and the old slot will reapper updated (the jeweller toolkits used to work like this before update)

new slot---> you need jeweler's toolkit, store item, it works different than before. if you click it it does nothing. now you drag and drop the item into the augment icon in the right bottom corner in inventory (there are 2, augment and sentient, and they work the same way). an interface opens. to slot, you drag and drop the augment from inventory into the interface.to unslot, you drag and drop jeweller toolkit.
