Swapping Windows Kicks Me Out

Evertime I Alt Tab to check a different window it kicks me out of DDO, any ideas?

99% of the time, this is a DirectX issue.

I'm guessing you are using DirectX12 (or whatever the most up to date version is)?

Sadly, DDO actually works better with older versions of DirectX, but in order to switch to an older version (easily done in options > graphics > hardware level) you have to manually download it.

Click the big red download button, SAVE IT to your computer (do NOT let it auto-run). Go to where you saved it, find the DXSETUP.exe file, double click it or right click and run as administrator. Follow those prompts.

This will give you access to DirectX9, 10 and 11. I actually use 9 for DDO.

If you do not follow those steps and just let your computer auto-update, it will detect you already have the most up to date version and it will say "update complete" but what it actually did was cancel the download of the older versions.

Oh wow... huh. uhm. I've only ever seen what you're describing from directX issues. Perhaps change from 9 to 10 or 11? If not, then I don't know and apologize. :(
