I haven’t a clue what you people have done to the Lesser Dragonmark of Passage (https://ddowiki.com/page/Dragonmark) (DDoor (https://ddowiki.com/page/Dimension_Door) SLA), but it’s janky af.

At least 50% of the time I get an “error no target” message when I try to cast it, and in order to make it work I need to do isht like switch to my desktop, and back into the game, lock and unlock my hotbars, move things on my hotbars, force-quit DDO entirely (super great whilst on HC, thanks for that) or sometimes, nothing at all:

“First try?” Nope!

“Second try??” Nope!!

“Third try?!?” Sure, why not!!!

Before you fix this, please, fire all management, and hire someone who can look an employee square in the eye and threaten them with “Do a better job, or I’ll fire you, and find someone else who can.”

EDIT: It could possibly be a Human and/or Ranger thing, as that’s the current build I’m experiencing this glorious “feature” on, neither of which I have played for any meaningful length of time. That said, in ~ a decade of using the DDoor spell (https://ddowiki.com/page/Dimension_Door), I haven’t once seen this “error, no target” message, so I’m pretty confident it’s unique to the Dragonmark.

Hit F1, now you have a target, hit DDoor, done.

Moot. This shouldn’t be required when using DDoor from a Dragonmark compared to the spell.

Also moot. I’m simply describing something that’s broken. Workarounds like yours do nothing but provide SSG with an excuse to ignore doing their job. Again.

You and I have a VERY different view of the spell, because this is exactly how I remember the spell works.
Aim at a wrong target, aim too far? Spell doesn't work.
Target self? Poof, blue door.
Stand close to the wall and cast? Blue door appears somewhere above your head, hopefully within Jump range.

Yep, this isn't a Dragonmark thing, it's a spell targeting thing that's been around for years.

Should it be? Naw. Those of us who use it regularly have gotten used to it for the most part. (Not really meaning to speak for a bunch of folks, but it has been an issue for a long time, not just with DD.)

I must be having a bad communication day. My point isn’t debatable, and personal points of view are irrelevant.

The spell works one way when it’s a Dragonmark SLA, and another when it’s the actual spall. This is either by accident, or by design. Granted, it might be the latter, but in lieu of a reasonable explanation, I’m asserting it’s the former.

I should note, I’m defining “reasonable explanation” as “words directly from SSG.” Not theory-crafting, opinion, or anecdote.
