Can we fix the bug where you log out but you don't ?

Sometimes changing zones will speed it up, but yeah seems like there's a 50% chance when I go to log out the game just refuses.

Fixing that will fix the bug that you log off ddo but it hangs and stays there forever until you kill the process?

Also when you log & the bar goes by but nothing else happens yet you are still logged in and can continue to play

I notice this logout lockup is exponentially worse on transfer toons.. like all the toons i moved to my main server from hardcore, every one of these takes 10x longer to log out.
It is a drastically noticeably longer logout on these transfer toons when I flip between mule toons..

Longest to log out for me are iconic storage characters. Every single one of them has logout lag, varying from like 30 seconds to 3 (!) minutes.

Why do they take longer to logout than my main and my main alt? I mean those have more data stored than the iconics that never TRed and never quested except Coin Lord and House K favor.

I used to have lvl 1 mules and those had some logout lag too.

Though I did not have the issue when Ivonic first come put but then I don't remember this being an issue then at all

For some strange reason it's only the mules for me - at the moment.

My main can log out near instantly, even though he is PDK currently. But I used to have logout lag on him too, on non-iconic and iconic lives.

It's very odd.

Logout stopped working right for me some years ago and rather than fight with it I switched to quit.

My worst case character is one that I moved to Khyber from Wayfinder. He'd been awarded all the free stuff from the Wayfinder issues and I was never going to play it there so I paid to get the freebies to my main server.

Since then, he's successfully logged off maybe 1 in 10 times. If that often.

I've changed areas a lot to see if that would help. Now, I hit logout button and let the bar go and if it doesn't actually work I just exit the game and log back in.

It's annoying, so he doesn't see the light of day too much anymore.

I wonder how much of log out/in and reincarnation issues are quests not turned in. I think the game creates quest reward item list on quest acceptance, so if you don't turn quests in you may create hundreds of loot lists tied to your character data with thousands of items. There is a quest in Catacombs where the guy that gives you the quests flashes a loot list for completion real quick when he bestows it, and it is the same list you get when you complete the quest 10 minutes later.

Since this bug became as prominent and problematic as it is; I've been just quitting out more instead, and calling it a day.
I'd add something about that being a bummer - but...

I have had this for many years on all of my iconic toons, mules or not, but it does seem worse on the ones that are uncapped first-lifers. They don't have any quest rewards unclaimed, so that's not it.

Maybe it's somehow related to the bug that kills iconics in the red light-green light section of Deathwyrm even when they're standing still :D

Interesting, I hadn't thought of that.

Gonna try turning in quests. I don't take quest rewards on mules.
