What did you guys do with this?
have failed 2 attempts since you re opened this.
More damage more hp is fine.
adding in insta kills? that would be fine.
but having djinn knock you down and send you flying to where you cant even reach the platform? not fine. with it being gated behind the prequest and basically kicking you out of the quest.... i cant imagine this is wai.
could we have a dev come in and speech with us about this?

This happened to my Halfling Ranger thrower. I went to first base and the Air Elemental threw me so far off the platform that I had ZERO chance to make it to the island with the teleporter below.
After spending so much time in VON 5 doing all the different things (including solving the puzzle after using one of those keys that unlocks anything to open the locked door to get to the puzzle) only to be thrown off in VON 6 was NOT fun. :mad:

This also just happened to me. Super troll of the devs to do this if its WAI. Getting blown off and basically just accepting that you've been kicked from the quest is just maximum frustration. I dont play games that are frustrating. Ill just pike at the entrance from now on.

Happened to me as well but I was lucky and had ff on to get to the platform below.
Move to have your back to the pillar before you dps the djinn and it turns into a whirlwind so you can't fall off. Or DPS it into oblivion so it dies before it turns.

yes this is a workaround.
still shouldnt be there.
the last time it got me i was moving to help out a base, got there and it knocked me down and sent me flying..... in the opposite direction from the low platform

Happened in my VoN as well, think 2 or 3 were thrown off. Silly annoying.

Had this happen to other raid members too. Very frustrating. And the workaround doesn't work on the air mobs as even the trash is tossing you about unless I am dreaming.
Also the Ice trash seemed way tougher than the other trash. Did it get missed/broken in the rebalance?
Out of interest does anyone know of an item that prevents even Knockback from elementals? I seem to remember an item with charges, maybe from Gianthold (I could be mistaken)? I know about the Fey Augment but that only stops the Knockdown and not the Knockback...

Happened to me and others in subsequent runs. Kinda ruins an otherwise enjoyable raid.

I went in von5 joining a party and luckly someone warned us about that.. we decided to complete von5 but not to do von6.
i was doubtful about that decision but now you all confirmed me that was the right choice.
God bless that guy who said it to us in time.

i'll say this again, thanks old turbine for having as primary objective punish the players and inconvenience them
kicking you out from a raid "mechanic", e.g. von but also tod, is not a game mechanic, it's just straightforward sadistic. if you fall in von it's insta death? it's ok. if you get banished from tod it's instadeath? it's ok, it's your problem. kick you out from the instance it's being on purpose plain bad and malicious. thanks old turbine for ruining group content in a mmo, well done, it was not easy but you did it with this and many other bad bad bad ideas you implemented on purpose. and this is the root of many ddo problems, like this one discussed in this thread. ssg is not guilty.
and btw i did epic von yesterday, at bravery range R1, as the rest of the party, i also noticed at ice island (i was there, don't know the others, first time i play the raid at level after the changes. i played another run with capped party days ago and well we destroyed it in no time, no chance to notice things, as intended lol) the ice flensers, there's something wrong with em, too many hp.

You can fairly easily circle kite the djinn during the whirlwind part to avoid the knockback. I've don VoN5-6 like 5x since it came back (and I always go air), with only one failure (which was due to low DPS + shortmanning + bad coordination). Ice mobs are more my concern, they're very overtuned compared to the rest of the raid lol.

Why not try? Usually it's a smooth 3 minute run, sometimes it's a 5-minute slog, but by like minute 6 you'll know if you're completing or not. If you fail the raid doesn't go on timer, if you succeed you get loot - so there's no drawback to trying?
Devs are very unlikely to fix anything within 3 days anyway so even if you just run it on EN where you can oneshot everything you'll end up with more runes lol.

Items that prevent air elemental knockdown only prevent the knockdown, not the toss. Pretty lame, I remember being very excited to get the first one they introduced... then very disappointed.

The janky collision physics in this game can make that impossible - once you bounce off of a wall object, nothing will change your direction of travel until you hit solid ground. I used two leap of faith charges on my FvS after getting knocked off ice a week or two ago, and couldn't get anywhere near the platform below. I've kept my back to a wall since, and avoided standing anywhere near the walkway openings in each island.

I tried it twice, both fire. No shoes.
Ran into toxic treatment and the eles still blew me around but not as far. You may beonto something

Apologies for the recent storm of stat related monster bugs in the early epics. These epic quests were originally put together with a tools hack waaay back when epic difficulty didn't have normal/hard/elite settings and was just "epic". As a result we had to rebuild many monsters from scratch in order to make them part of the massive stat adjustment which was part of U51. The sheet volume of the content touched is making for a bit of catch up.

Thanks!! Nice this was not intended. Really dont find any "fun" that individual ppl in a raid or quest wont get completion/loot when the raid succeds. Phew :-) (For me any that fell of could be placed in some limbo place as in stormreaver raid and being able get back if raid succed). I like then teammates will be happy at the end.

You don't get a timer if knocked off or if you recall or teleport out before completing VoN6 - you can literally go right back into VoN5. I got knocked off last week on Friday, and ran VoN 5+6 again on Sunday without burning a timer. AFAIK the timer is applied when you complete a raid in every case (failing out of Baba on LR1 we cruised it on LH immediately afterwards, for instance).
If you've already finished VoN5 the only reason not to continue into VoN6 is being on HC server and worried about dying, but you could still just go forward on EN or something so even the not-properly-scaled enemies aren't a threat. It usually takes like 3-5 minutes so it's not even much of a time investment.
And if you're like "I want an Elite completion and will accept nothing else" sure I guess, but like the fix is going to be (at soonest) a few days out so might as well get a Normal completion now and an Elite one in 4 days post-patch.

@Torc, can you take a look at zawabi's revenge too? The efreeti are much bulkier than they used to be. 30k hp and everyone's cr 45 on EE. I haven't done epic chrono since it came back but my guess is it's overtuned as well. EE and reaper zawabi's/von are both much beefier than they were before the quests were taken down.

I haven't run VON6 recently but in the past if you fell off (not hard to do if you aren't paying enough attention running the bases), as long as you were out of the quest before the rest of the party finished you were not put on timer even though everyone else was on timer.

If 3/12 people get a VoN6 completion instead of 0/12 that seems like a win to me given the cost is 5 minutes and only those 3 go on timer, no? And if 11/12 make it sweet! Falling off has always been part of the raid, it's just more common currently. It's not ideal if anyone falls off ever, but sometimes it happens - and that's the design of that content. But nobody getting loot instead of part of the party getting loot seems like a good thing?
And if the majority falls off then they easily can do a 2nd run since they already have a near-full party, or can just call it a day and move on with their XP & favor (esp on HC).
FWIW I've done VoN6 at least 5 times with this bugged update, and only once have we not succeeded (shortman + we didn't allocate DPS for boss-coded ice monsters fast enough). I've looted VoN6 4 times instead of 0x like you would have dipping out after VoN5. Could it have been 5? Sure, but I could also just have walked off the edge one of those times lol (in those 4 successes we lost like 3 people total).
EE ZR and EE Chrono seemed fine to me, but possibly I'm on a stronger build than last life when I was running pre-update. YMMV?
