So, i've been pondering getting back into DDO after a 1y break cuz money (game's expensive :S) and i was juicing for some druid back then and after playing wow for a while am juicing for tha bear again. I read a little here and there, and i'll 100% go bear and since i like bonk and melee a lot put some barbarian in there. That been sayed i got some questions and ideias

1 - Rogue - Thief-Acrobat +5%/+10%/+15% attack speed with quarterstaves. Works for bear? (I have an elemental broom and was thinking "why not")

2 - My goal's to get as much Strikethrough as possible(im not a veteran but i know a bucnh of quests with plenty of aoe)

3 - Im running Premium atm (dunno if will ViP again), which locks me out of some races but i'd like the idea of a warforged cuz the *war flashbacks* enhancment + better power attack + Strikethrough. But i do have 5k points stored. i'll 100% have to buy aasimar or pay 1 vip tough, my main's an aasimar lvl 18 locked atm, i'll HTR her. Also thinking bout human if i need extra points on class enhancment trees and improved critical for the staff

4 - I was thinking Druid 8 for Dire bear cuz (Strikethrough), Rogue 3 for free feat + Strikethrough, And Barbarian 5/6. I need to have by lvl 7 the 3 rogue lvls for the free feat, but other than that. Was thinking barb 1 (early falchion use), druid 3(bear), rogue 3 (staff before 7) at the start, but i'll have to grab something other than natural figthning at 3 or go bear 3>barb1>rogue3

5 - For feats it would mostly be, Power attack (lvl 1), Natural figthning x3, THF x3

Tips? Sugestions? Corrections?

I read a little here and there, and i'll 100% go bear and since i like bonk and melee a lot put some barbarian in there. That been sayed i got some questions and ideias

Welcome back. I played a bear some time ago.

1 - Rogue - Thief-Acrobat +5%/+10%/+15% attack speed with quarterstaves. Works for bear? (I have an elemental broom and was thinking "why not")
Thief acrobat attack speed bonus to q-staff does not work in bear form – or wolf form – the last time I checked which was probably 1½ year ago.

5 - For feats it would mostly be, Power attack (lvl 1), Natural figthning x3, THF x3

Tips? Sugestions? Corrections?

Why THF times 3? it does not stack with natural fighting. Only reason for taking it is to get access to the enhancement that gives strikethrough.

I am not sure I understand the rogue levels. Light armor and bear form is not a good mix. 5 levels of rogue would get you +1 crit multi and range though but there are so many good things in Natures protetor or barb trees. Though 11 ap in seasons herald gets you +1 more from shillelagh whih works in bear form effectively given shillelagh +2 [w]. This can be good.

If it was me I would just make a pure druid bear using staves. But you do you.

Feat suggestion (7 heroic)
Power attack (lvl 1) – consider exhanging to precision in late heroics/start epics.
Natural figthning x3 (lvl 3, 6, 9)
Sword to plowshares lvl 12
Improved crit lvl 15
Lvl 18 ???

Thats exactly why, from the barbarian enhancments

The rogue things i want, the feat+striketrough from the tree dont ask for light armor

But yeah, im wasting 2 THF just for the second barbarian striketrough bonus, idk if its worth it

1 - Rogue - Thief-Acrobat +5%/+10%/+15% attack speed with quarterstaves. Works for bear?
They do not. Neither does Quick Strike. Both are tied to the animation / combat style in humanoid forms, not just the equipped weapon. What works: the generic DPS bonuses like Swords to Plowshares, Staff Training, and Staff Specialization.

i'd like the idea of a warforged cuz the *war flashbacks* enhancment + better power attack + Strikethrough.
Note that if you want either body feat (Adamantine or Mithral), you'll also need Force of Nature: "You gain [10/15/20]% resistance against Force damage and +[1/2/3] Constitution. Your attunement to Nature is emboldened - Your Druidic Oath is no longer broken by wearing metal armor or shields." It's tier-5 Nature's Protector, though, which would obviously lock out tier-5 Berserker.

Druid 8 for Dire bear cuz (Strikethrough)
Dire Bear doesn't boost Strikethrough. Its bonuses are "+4 racial bonus to constitution and +15% exceptional bonus to AC." This is why some DPS builds go for druid 3 (base bear + unlock Natural Fighting) / barbarian 11 (Greater Rage + tier-5 Berserker).

Why THF times 3? it does not stack with natural fighting. Only reason for taking it is to get access to the enhancement that gives strikethrough.
Which is exactly why so many barbearian builds like this take the THF chain and go for tier-5 Berserker:

Angry Arms: +5/10/20% Strikethrough chance.

Mad Munitions: +5/10/20% Strikethrough chance.
Focus Wide: When you score a vorpal hit, you gain +50% Strikethrough chance for 12 seconds.

If OP goes human, half-orc, or Warforged, they can also take their racial Great Weapon Aptitude: "+5/10/20% Strikethrough chance."

How about a Match Stick?

You want 1 rogue...which gets you the speed stick (plus rogue skills if you want any...search or UMD if nothing else)
6 monk...Henshin for BBQ stick
13 Druid.. For Fire Elemental

You are looking at a naked 65 fire absorbtion +6 fire resist and -6 resistance to your fire spells including your fire ki strikes and finisher (the strikes I am assuming I could be wrong)
+100 to your Fort and an assortment of other goodies granted and available to you if you want to check the wiki as its 12:30 AM and I
am too lazy to give you all the bells and whistles... I mean technically if you went tier 4 in forged racial tree you would have a naked 175 fort alone not including destinies, gear, or any other source...so a fortification score of over 300 percent is easily acheivable even on a first life with well over 400 fort possible (other forged traits are stripped however make sure to check which ones to try not to take too many needless enhancements)

Just be careful around cold and water...dont light the forgedman grill in rain or snow ( it must be late my jokes are stale as the cracker crumbs in my bed...its not that much of a vulnerability just 15 percent just have cold resistance items handy, being practically immune to fire it should not be too much of a chore to have gear for specifically that purpose. Spies Elementals raining down on you can hurt to be sure)

I would go strength based with ultimate sun stance which gives plus 4 strength and X1 multiplier on 19-20... the acrobat enhancement for speed is enough imo you can never get enough critical multipliers...although I say this now by epic you will most likely be in Earth stance most the time if you solo which is why that one rogue level can help offset the reduction in your speed.

If you did this and your buddy did a Water version the same way (minus the rogue level going 7 monk instead) but Shintao rather than Henshin.... that would be pretty epic. Be like two rook tower tanks...you light them all up and he puts them all out individually...totally zen taking turns with healing finishers like you both were the light and dark of a radiant servant burst open Yin Yang like and with a real Melee based blue cross blue shield (S&B) radiant servant cleric with you...I am sure any party you three joined could take high end reaper easy...add in a high DPS mechanic and A Warlock with a pocket cleric you park as a portable shrine and you got God mode

I was doing Rogue/Barb/Druid cuz they are all the classes the buff striketrough tbh

The list goes (* taking and not benefiting, ** not taking)

Feats
*Two Handed Fighting: +60% chance
*Improved Two Handed Fighting: +30% chance
*Greater Two Handed Fighting: +30% chance
Perfect Two Handed Fighting: +30% chance
Natural Fighting: +60/30/30% chance
*Greater Domain of Destruction: +5% chance

Enhancements
Barbarian
-Angry Arms: +5/10/20% chance
-Mad Munitions: +5/10/20% chance
-Focus Wide: +50% chance
Rogue
-Improved Second Strikes: +5/10/20% chance
**Followthrough: +50% chance
Paladin (Cant cuz dont mix with barb)
**Improved Second Strikes: +5/10/20% chance
Artificer (Too many lvls)
**Hand and a Half Training: +5/5/5/5% chance
Ranger (Not using TWF)
**Dance of Death: +50/100/200% chance

**Dwarven Axe Training: +5/5/5/10% chance
(Warforged) Great Weapon Aptitude: +5/10/20% chance

Epic abilities
Malicious Weapons: +5/10/20% chance
Wild Weapons: +5/10/20% chance
Unbridled Fury: When activated, +100% chance

Bear 20% base
Dire bear +20%

Thats a TON of Striketrough that can be added on each other if i have Barb 5, Druid 8 and rogue 3, however that leads to a scuffed build imo idk, like that 3 Rogue just for 20% striketrough its a big investment, THF x3 for Mad Munitions: +Focus Wide: its also a huge investment but with a huge payout aswel

I have +8 tomes, and my focus is as much as Striketrough as possible while Bear. Idk what to do with the rest of the build lol
- Do i Rogue for 20% Strikethrough?
- Do i THF x3 for 40% Strikethrough + 50% on vorpaç or jut THF once for 20%?
- Do i Focus on rage combo for bear/barb
- Are the power attack enhancments worth it?
- Should i take warforged armor feats aswel?

The base idea of a bear+barb with Strikethrough works, i just wanna maximize the Strikethrough and not play a scuffed build at the end xD

Thats all i need to maximize the Strikethrough from enhancments

If i were to drop something would prob be the 3 rogue lvls + using a staff, for 2 figther lvls to get 2 more feats and get the warforged armor + improved critical (slashing) for the scimitar

My opinion and it's just my opinion of course...higher AC PRR and Fort is better than an extra 20 percent strike through when it comes to reaper...so even if you were going much of heroic in bear you would be better off in an elemental form in Epic and again with the combined fort of elemental and warforged alone not including any destinies, gear, ship buffs,or whatever...that's 175 somehow washed up naked on the beaches of Korthos at level 20 fort.
With all that firepower you can take points for consecrated ground in Divine Crusader
And then buff up defense and hp heavy in Unyielding Sentinel
Then top it off with Legendary Dreadnaught

With consecrated ground which benefits and crits from fire, and light finisher from monk you have aoe healing
and then of course Druid spells for self heals.

The forged benefits two hand weapons and Henshin the Quarterstaff in particular.
You would be a tank but with a considerable amount of DPS that can also dish out free AOE heals like a Cleric
You would make paladins cry.
