Is there any meaningful difference between a longbow and a composite bow?

There's a lot to keep track of in DND and I don't even see composite bow on the weapon category page.

If it matters, the character I'm playing is a True Neutral Half Elf, Rogue 2, Ranger 4, Wizard 1, with all future levels being Wizard.

No difference in DDO.

Although I think the description for composite bows say something about more range, I have never saw a difference because if you can target it, you can hit it with any bow with regard to range.

Nope.

For those unaware, in the game this is based on, composite long and short bows both have a slightly greater range than regular long and short bows. Additionally, they can be built for specific Strength bonuses so that you can add your Strength bonus to damage with them. For example, if you have a composite longbow built for a +3 bonus, and you have a Strength of 16 or better, you add +3 damage to each arrow (but no more than +3 if your bonus is +4 or better).

I still think Bow Strength should be removed, and proper composite bows added.
